Parents of students of Caleb University, Imota, Lagos State, have declared that there is no crisis between them and the school authorities over school fees.

The declaration was made by the vice chairman of the parents’ forum, Mr. Oritseweyinmi Boyo, in a press statement he issued.

This is as he also praised the school authorities for ensuring that the academic calendar was not disrupted despite COVID-19, following the e-learning initiative introduced.

Speaking on the relationship between the parents and the school authorities, Boyo said at no time was there an unresolved issue that could lead to any crisis between them.

He explained that the school fees issue misconstrued to be a crisis bordered on students who had paid their accommodation fees in anticipation of resumption, but were advised by the school management to either carry such fees forward or get a refund.

Boyo noted that he had personally called on any parent who had paid his or her child’s accommodation fee, to come up with the receipts of such payment for a refund.

The parents’ forum vice-chairman also expressed the appreciation of the parents to the university management for coming up with apps which would bridge the communication gap between the parents and the school.

He said with the two apps – Caleb Watch and Caleb Connect – the stage had been set for even better communication between the university and its stakeholders.

He explained that it was the cordial relationship existing between the parents and the university management that made it possible for the parents to commence the construction of a well-equipped multi-million naira medical centre in the school, which is expected to be commissioned in the last quarter of the year.
