Former governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, has lambasted former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, over his comment on the death of Buruji Kashamu.

He said Obasanjo’s end would come too but no one knew how it would be.

Kashamu represented Ogun East at the eighth Senate, and died of coronavirus at the age of 62 on Saturday.

In his condolence message to Ogun State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, Obasanjo said although Kashamu escaped efforts to get prosecuted over alleged case of drug dealings, he could not escape death.

Reacting to the statement of the former president on his Twitter handle, Fayose said it was condemnable.

He warned Obasanjo to stop pretending to be a saint.

He accused the former president of having a hand in some of the crimes for which Kashamu was being hunted while alive.

Said Fayose: “I commiserate with the family of Senator Buruji Kashamu for this irreparable loss and pray for the repose of his soul. The Almighty God will console those he left behind.

“I also condemn the statement made by former President Obasanjo on his (Kashamu) death.

“Can Obasanjo say in good conscience that he did not at some point collaborate with Kashamu and most of the things he (Kashamu) did politically were not with his collaboration?

“Nigerians will watch out for Obasanjo’s own end. He should stop forming saint because he is not. He should also remember that his own end will come too and nobody knows how the end will be.”
