The National Working Committee, NWC, of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has been dissolved.
This is as a caretaker committee was set up to take its place.
The dissolution of the NWC took place at the party’s National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, and headed by Mr. Victor Giadom as the acting national chairman.
Yobe State governor and former National Secretary of the party, Mai Mala Buni, was announced as the head of the caretaker committee.
The activities at the NEC meeting were confirmed by the Personal Assistant on New Media to President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, on his Twitter handle.
His tweets read: “Following the recommendation of President Muhammadu Buhari, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been dissolved.
“The National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC has been dissolved, the decision has just been taken at the ongoing Party’s NEC Meeting.
“Governor of Yobe State, H.E Mai Mala Buni has just been appointed as the chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC)’s caretaker committee and extraordinary national convention.”
