A non-governmental organisation, Oyo State Think Tank for COVID-19, has concluded plans to commence advocacy visit in the state to curtail the spread of coronavirus pandemic.
The convener of the group, Comrade Jadesola Ajibola, who made the disclosure in a statement issued in Ibadan, the state capital, said every stakeholder must make efforts to stop the spread of the virus.
She said violation of government directives had remained the major challenge facing health workers in the state, stating that that had continued to aid the spread of the disease.
According to her, the Think Tank which commenced its activities since April 1, 2020, had served as a feedback mechanism, noting that it had resolved many issues through members organisations with the aid of WhatsApp platforms.
Comrade Ajibola who doubles as the Chairperson, Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Oyo State chapter, lauded all organisations that came together to brainstorm and resolve issues on COVID-19 confronting the state.
Organisations in the state that made up the advocacy group include NAWOJ, AONN, NMA, MWAN, NLC, NYCN, JDPC, OYCIMMA, TUC, JDPM, NUPENG, the Iyaloja of Ibadanland, PWD, SUG, University of Ibadan, CEHUWE, Home Front, I Engage Hub, NBA and FIDA.
