Many residential houses in Akure, Ondo State, have been destroyed following an explosion Saturday morning.
The explosion was said to have occurred at about 1.00 a.m. at Eleyowo, Akure, along Owo-Akure, Ondo State.
It was said to have occurred from a truck transporting some materials believed to be explosives to a quarry in another state.
A church, school and filling station were also said to have been destroyed with several people wounded.
The explosion was said to have cut off the Akure-Owo Road thus causing traffic problem.
Security agents were said to have arrived the scene for on the spot assessment.
It would be recalled that an explosion had earlier in the month rocked Abule Ado area of Lagos.
Several persons were killed while some houses were destroyed.
The Lagos State government has embarked on moves to cushion the effects of the disaster as it raised a fund to that effect.
