As a part of measures to tighten security following religious violence, the Nigeria Air Force, NAF, has deployed a detachment of Special Forces to Kaduna State.
This was made known on Monday in Abuja by the NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola.
He said the detachment would join forces with others already on ground to ensure security of lives and property.
He said two helicopters and a DA-42 Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft had been on ground in the ongoing operation in Kaduna State.
Said he: “The detachment will join other NAF personnel in Kaduna and other security agencies to ensure that the spate of senseless killings in some parts of the state is brought to a complete end and normalcy expeditiously restored.”
It would be recalled that religious violence broke out recently in Kasuwan Magani in Kujama Local Government Area of the state.
The violence which spread to other parts of the state left no fewer than 55 people dead.
The state government has imposed curfew to bring the mayhem to an end.
