The Court of Appeal on Wednesday sacked the senator representing Ekiti South Senatorial District, Dayo Adeyeye, as it upheld the decision of the Ekiti State Elections Petition Tribunal to that effect.
He was replaced with Bioldun Olujimi who was declared the true winner of the senatorial election in the district.
Olujimi is the candidate of the Peoples Democratic party, PDP, in the election while Adeyeye contested on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
In her petition, Olujimi said the APC candidate should be removed as she had the highest number of lawful votes in the election.
In a unanimous verdict by the tribunal, Olujimi was declared the winner.
Not satisfied, Adeyeye appealed the case.
But in its verdict delivered on Wednesday, the Appeal Court declared Olujimi the true winner.
