The Police Command in Osun has arrested three suspects in connection with the murder of one Seun Ajayi in Ikire, Irewole local government area.

The spokesperson for the command, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, made this known in a statement on Thursday.

Ojelabi said on October 3, at about 7:30p.m, a man reported at the Ikire Police Divisional Headquarters that on same date at about 6:00 p.m., some hoodlums attacked him and his friend at a barbing salon at Oja-Ale in Ikire.

He said the hoodlums, armed with dangerous weapons, attacked them and macheted his friend, Seun Ajayi, to death while he managed to escape.

The command’s spokesperson stated that through intelligence-led operation, the leader of the gang, known as “Igboya Aye-nuru” was apprehended alongside two others.

He said the hoodlums’ leader was also alleged to have sent some threat voice messages to some residents of Wasimi, warning them to leave the town or face the consequences.

He added that the same suspect was also actively involved in the killing of two passers-by during an attack on policemen from Ikire Division on August 24, 2026.

He said an axe, two double-edge knives and three android mobile phones were recovered from the suspects.

Ojelabi said the suspects would be charged to court after the conclusion of investigation.
