The remains of Teacher Adesiyan Joel Adegboye were interred on Friday, May 22, 2026.

Adegboye was the teacher killed by bandits during the attacks on schools in Ahoro-Esinele, Oriire local government area of Ogbomoso, Oyo state, on May 15.

During the attacks, some students and teachers, including the principal, Mrs Rachael Alamu, were abducted and have since remained in captivity.

One of the teachers in captivity, Mr. Michael Oyedokun, was recently killed by the bandits and the video of his gruesome murder released.

Following a programme of event made available, the remains of the late teacher were buried on Friday.

The burial service was held at Ayegun Baptist Church, Ogbomosho, Oyo State while the interment took place at his residence at Owolake area of Ogbomoso.

Adegboyeg was 49 years old when he was killed by the bandits.
