The Niger Police Command has confirmed the abduction of the Head of the Medical Services, General Hospital, New Bussa in Borgu local government area, Dr Tony Eghagagara.
The command’s spokesman, SP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the incident in a statement made available in Minna, on Friday.
Abiodun stated that Eghagagara was kidnapped at about 9:30pm on Wednesday by suspected bandits in his private hospital in Wawa, also in Borgu local government area.
He stated that a police tactical team had been mobilised for the rescue operation.
He promised that further developments would be communicated to the public in due course.
