The monthly upkeep allowance for each student remains N20,000 only, the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, NELFUND, has declared.
NELFUND made the clarification on Monday in a statement issued by its Director, Strategic Communications, Mrs. Oseyemi Oluwatuyi.
The spokesperson explained that the news making the rounds that the upkeep allowance was N25,000 was wrong and should be discountenanced.
The statement reads in full:
“The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has noted misinformation circulating regarding the monthly upkeep allowance for student beneficiaries.
“For clarity, the approved upkeep allowance remains ₦20,000 (Twenty Thousand Naira) monthly, and not ₦25,000 as being reported.
“Students are advised to disregard any contrary information and rely only on official NELFUND communication channels for accurate updates.
“The Fund appreciates the continued cooperation of students and remains committed to delivering transparent, efficient, and student-focused support nationwide.
