A 68 years old man, Yisah Showunmi, has been arrested in Lagos over alleged defilement of his 15 years old daughter and her friends.
The arrest was effected following a report by the girl at Imota Police Station on June 27, 2019.
The girl said her father had been defiling her for the past three years.
She also said Showunmi also did same to her two friends aged 15 and 16 years old who came to stay in their house.
The disclosure was made by the Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command, DSP Bala Elkana.
He said Showunmi, upon investigation, confessed to committing the crime and had been charged to court.
The statement reads: “On the 27th of June 2019 at about 1400hrs the 15 years old victim (name withheld) reported a case of defilement at Imota Police Station against her father, one Yisah Showunmi ‘m’ 68 years old.
“The survivor alleged that her father has been having sexual intercourse with her for the past three years. She further alleged that when her two friends (names withheld) ages 15 and 16 came to stay in their house, her father also had sexual intercourse with them.
“She added that the last incident happened on 23rd of June, 2019.
“The suspect however confessed to the crime. He is charged to Court.”
In a related development, a man was arrested for raping a girl in an uncompleted building.
The suspect is Aliyu Ali Muhammed.
His arrest was effected when one Harrison Chukwereuke of Peace Estate reported the case at Iba Police Station in Lagos State.
Chukwereuke said he caught Muhammed in the act with a 14 years old girl in an uncompleted building in the estate.
