No fewer than 300,000 national driver’s licences are available to be claimed by applicants across the 36 states of the federation.
The Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps, Dr Boboye Oyeyemi, made this known, just as he called on applicants to go and claim them.
He explained that FRSC had cleared the pending backlog of licences domiciled in the production plant to various state Board of Internal Revenues/ State Motor Vehicle Administration Offices for onward dispatch to applicants.
Oyeyemi who spoke at the national headquarters of the FRSC while doing a general overview and analysis of the strength, weaknesses, opportunities and threats associated with the National Drivers Licencing Scheme in order to make the entire process more effective.
In a statement by the Corps Public Education Officer, Mr. Bisi Kazeem, the Corps Marshal said that the foundation of the Corps was built on Information Technology and the Corps was advancing towards ensuring that the digitalisation of its entire processes were perfected to enhance ease of doing business.
“As I speak to you today, there is no single Drivers License left in FRSC custody. Applicants should endeavour to go to the states where they procured their licenses for claims and collection.
“Accordingly, efforts are already in place to clear the backlogs and ensure that those applicants are recontacted and encouraged to pick up their licenses”. He added.
In the mean time, the Corps said it would henceforth upload information about produced licences on its official website, and all its social media platforms.
FRSC urged applicants to login to FRSC websites, www.frsc.gov.ng, social media platforms; www.facebook.com/frscnigeria, www.twitter.com/frscnigeria, www.Instagram.com/frscnigeria for information regarding to the status and location of their licences.
