2026 UTME: JAMB adjusts arrival time for candidates

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has announced a slight adjustment to the arrival time for candidates sitting the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, particularly those scheduled for the first session.

The announcement was made on Monday on its official X handle, @JAMBHQ.

According to the board, the first session which had 6.30 a.m. as its arrival time has been moved to 7.00 a.m.

Commencement time of the examination, it said, would therefore be 8.30 a.m. and end at exactly 10.30 a.m.

The announcement reads: “Attention 2026 UTME Candidates: This is to notify you of a slight adjustment to the arrival scheduled time, particularly for the first session, which is now 7:00am as against the earlier published 6:30am, while the scheduled start time for the session is now 8:30 am and end time 10:30 am.”

The board however stated that the candidates did not need to reprint their examination slips despite the adjustment in time.

The examination which will have four sessions each day is scheduled as shown below:

Session 1: Arrival Time – 7.00 a.m; Start Time – 8.30 a.m. and End Time – 10.30 a.m.

Session 2: Arrival – 9.00 a.m; Start Time – 11.00 a.m. and End Time – 1.00 p.m

Session 3: Arrival – 11.00 a.m; Start Time – 1.30 p.m and End Time – 3.30 p.m.

Session 4: Arrival – 2.00 p.m. Start Time – 4.00 p.m. and End Time 6.00 p.m.

The examination will hold from Thursday, April 16, to Saturday, April 25, 2026.
