The national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has paid a condolence visit to Kano State to commiserate with his Chief of Staff, Mustapha Dawaki, over the passing of his beloved mother.
During the visit to Kano, Yilwatda expressed heartfelt condolences to the Dawaki family, describing the late matriarch as a woman whose values and legacy were evident in the character and public service of her son.
Hajiya Binta Bala, aged 83, passed away after a prolonged illness.
Her janaza (funeral) prayers were conducted last Saturday at the Dawakin Kudu Central Mosque in Dawaki Town, in accordance with Islamic rites.
He prayed for the repose of her soul and for strength and comfort for the bereaved family at this difficult time.
As part of the visit, the APC national chairman toured the Police Private School, PPS, Dawkin Nkudu, an education initiative established by Hon. Dawaki to advance access to quality learning in the state.
The school, which has grown to over 700 students in less than two and a half years, stands as one of several empowerment projects undertaken by Dawaki to uplift communities and invest in human capital.
Yilwatda, himself an academic, commended Hon. Dawaki for his foresight and commitment to education, noting that sustainable development began with deliberate investments in knowledge and character formation.
He praised the school’s management and staff for their dedication, professionalism, and the nurturing environment they provided, describing the institution as a beacon for shaping Nigeria’s future leaders.
The condolence visit also drew a warm reception from residents of Dawkin Nkudu and surrounding communities, many of whom trooped out in large numbers to welcome the APC national chairman, an affirmation of Hon. Dawaki’s strong grassroots connection and popularity in the area.
Professor Yilwatda concluded by encouraging continued community-focused initiatives that empower young people, strengthen social cohesion, and reinforce the APC’s commitment to people-centered development across the country.
