The Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, has declared that it arrested convicted cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, (popularly known as Bobrisky) because he “is a person of interest over recent issues of public concern.”

The NIS made this known in a statement issued on Monday in Abuja by its spokesman, Mr. Kenneth Udo.

Bobrisky was said to have been intercepted at Seme Border on Monday while attempting to leave the country.

The statement by the NIS reads: “In keeping with its commitment to securing the borders, the NIS intercepted Idris Okuneye otherwise known as Bobrisky at the Seme Border over an attempt to exit the country.

“The Service wishes to inform the public that Idris Okuneye is a person of interest over recent issues of public concern.
