Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has charged Nigerian journalists to be professional in their conduct and pay special attention to accuracy and objectivity.

The governor made the call on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at the first public lecture organized by Treasure Newspaper Limited in Akure, Ondo State.

The event with the theme, “Home grown economy as road map for economic sustainability: Examining the prospects under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration,” had Aiyedatiwa as the Special Guest of Honour.

Represented by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Otunba Wale Akinlosotu, the governor promised to collaborate with the media in the state, especially as it was an election year.

He described Treasure Newspaper as a reputable media organization and congratulated its Editor-in-Chief, Mr. Emmanuel Adeniran and his team for a job well done.

The governor gave the assurance that he would continue to be media-friendly.

Speaking at the occasion too, the guest lecturer, Dr. Olusegun Mayegun, emphasized the importance of a good economy to the society and called on the federal government to do everything possible to improve the economic situation of Nigeria.

According to the former president of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, the “economy is the mainstream of any society and Nigerian government has to create a better economy.”

A well-attended occasion, it witnessed the presentation of awards to some deserving personalities.
