The Presidency has declared that the picture showing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Rwandan counterpart, Paul Kagame, having lunch on Sunday in Paris is not AI-generated.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Temitope Ajayi, made the declaration in a statement made available to FrontPage on Monday.
“The picture is real,” he said.
He stated that the comments that followed the report on social media were a misrepresentation of facts.
He explained that Tinubu and Kagame who met in Paris had lunch together on Sunday.
He added that they also, later in the day, had dinner with President Macron of France.
He stated that the picture was taken with a phone and obviously had poor quality.
It was against the backdrop, he said, that the photographer later used grok to improve the picture quality and that could not amount to it being described as AI-generated.
His words: “The photographer only later used grok to improve the picture quality. That is not a reason to conclude it was AI generated.”
He said the writer of the report should have asked questions before concluding that it was AI-generated.
