‘The Wife’ celebrates 17 years, gives awards to senior couples

Celebrating 'The Wife'

“The Wife” a faith-based organisation which trains wives to excel in their marriages and homes, on Saturday celebrated 17 years of existence and awarded couples who had been married for 25 years and more with testimonies of exemplary homes.

“The Wife” poised to grow the love between husbands and wives in order to achieve a fun filled marriage gave award to immediate past National Secretary of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, one time Lagos State PFN chairman and General Overseer of Guiding Light Assembly, Pastor Wale Adefarasin, and his wife, Pastor Laolu Adefarasin.

Other recipients of the award are Pastor and Mrs Sam Okoro; Reverend and Mrs Ambrose Massaquoi; Reverend and Mrs Dimanozie; Mr. and Mrs. Okafor, and Reverend and Pastor Mrs Falohun.

The founder of the group, Mrs Nkem Okoro in her speech gave more insight into the objectives of the organization, saying it included equipping and empowering wives to achieve their God given purposes in life and to teach and take care of themselves.

The chief coordinator, Pastor (Mrs) Ada Emeka in her opening address appreciated the stakeholders of the group, saying that their commitment had helped a lot in shaping the journey of the organization.

The chairman of the occasion, Mr. Emma Okafor, in his speech enjoined parents to train their children in the right way so as to have rest of mind in their old age.

Rev Damilola Sanni, while addressing couples, enjoined them to honour their marriage, describing it as an institution instituted by God.

Sanni charged members to be more committed saying “at 17, “The Wife” was old enough to walk on her two feet with outlets spread over the nation and internationally.”

“The Wife” couples forum luncheon 2023 had in attendance, Mrs Bridget Massaquoi, who spoke on “Building lasting relationship with your spouse”, Pastor Ken Ezih on “Love and discipline”, Mrs Adunola Akinyemiju, “Setting the right foundation from the beginning” and Dr Getrude Dike on “Guiding the next generation to make the right choice.”
