Demands for Nigerian Aviation Handling Company, Deap Capital Management, Omatek Ventures, Zichis Agro Allied Industries, Austinlaz and 55 other equities drove the market’s positive performance.

Specifically, the market capitalisation which opened at N109.129 trillion, gained N1.105 billion or 1.01 per cent to close at N110.234 trillion.

The All-Share Index also gained by 1.01 per cent or 1,722.13 points, to close at 171,727.49, against 170,005.36 recorded on Thursday.

This led the Year-to-date return to 10.36 per cent.

Also, the market breadth closed positive with 60 gainers and 19 losers.

Nigerian Aviation Handling Company, Deap Capital Management and Omatek Ventures led the gainers’ chart by 10 per cent each, finishing at N136.40, N6.82 and N2.64 per share respectively.

Zichis Agro Allied Industries and Austinlaz grew by 9.98 per cent each, closing at N6.72 and N5.40 per share respectively.

Conversely, The Initiates led the losers’ chart by 9.74 per cent, settling at N19.45, Daar Communications trailed by 7.32 per cent, closing at N1.90.

The United Capital shed by 6.55 per cent, finishing at N18.55 per share.

Also, WAPIC Insurance dipped by 5.71 per cent, ending the session at N3.30 and First Holding Company lost by 5.53 per cent, closing at N47 per share.

A total of 953.8 million shares worth N43.1 billion were exchanged in 51,005 deals, against 712.9 million shares valued at N22.3 billion that was traded across 46,104 transactions.

This showed a 34 per cent increase in volume, 94 per cent growth in turnover, and 11 per cent improvement in deals.

Fidelity Bank recorded the highest volume with 92.39 million shares traded, accounting for 9.69 per cent of the day’s total volume.

Presco recorded the highest value traded at N11.27 billion, accounting for 26.15 per cent of the total value traded for the day.

This represented a decline from the 4.607 billion shares worth N130.636 billion exchanged in 263,439 deals in the previous week.

As a result, transaction value on the Exchange fell by 23.6 per cent, with the market recording two sessions of gains and three sessions of losses during the week.

Meanwhile, the Financial Services Industry led the activity chart with 1.742 billion shares valued at N44.893 billion traded in 90,589 deals.

This contributed 46.49 per cent and 44.95 per cent to the total equity turnover volume and value respectively.

The Services Industry followed with 707.617 million shares worth N4.379 billion in 18,322 deals.

The third place was the ICT Industry, with a turnover of 303.216 million shares worth 5.932 billion in 24,107 deals.

Trading in the top three equities, namely Secure Electronic Technology Plc, Tantalizers Plc, Access Holdings Plc, accounted for 734.086 million shares worth N5.720 billion in 15,726 deals.

This contributed 19.59 per cent and 5.73 per cent to the total equity turnover volume and value respectively.

The NGX All-Share Index and Market Capitalisation depreciated by 0.39 per cent and 0.37 per cent, to close the week at 165,512.18 and N105.959 trillion respectively.

Similarly, all other indices finished lower with the exception of NGX Oil & Gas, NGX Lotus ll, NGX Growth and NGX Commodity indices which appreciated by 1.36 per cent, 0.37 per cent, 6.27 per cent and 0.79 per cent respectively.

Fifty-eight equities appreciated in price during the week, lower than 80 equities in the previous week.

Forty equities depreciated in price, higher than 17 equities in the previous week, while 50 equities remained unchanged, same as 50 recorded in the previous week.

The top five gainers for the week were: Deap Capital Management, SCOA, NCR Nigeria, Zichis Agro Allied Industries and DAAR Communications, as they added N2.68, N8.90, N59.60, 81k and 45k respectively.

Eterna, Secure Electronic Technology, Industrial and Medical Gases, Aluminium Extrusion Industries and UPDC were the top five losers for the week.

The companies lost N3.85, 11k, N3.85, N1.90 and 50k respectively.

The NGX also notified the Trading License Holders that the entire issued and fully paid 600,000,000 ordinary shares of Zichis Agro-Allied Industries Plc (the Company) were listed by introduction at N1.81 per share on the Standard Segment of the Growth Board of the NGX on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026.
