The University of Ilorin, UNILORIN, says the institution will commence registration for Post-UMTE from November 7 to December 14, 2022.

Mr Kunle Akogun, the Director of Corporate Affairs of the university, announced this in a statement in Ilorin on Saturday.

Akogun, however, dismissed speculation by “247 Connect Edu feed” about the institution’s upcoming Post-UTME screening registration, describing it as unsolicited.

“The attention of the management of the University of Ilorin has been drawn to an unsolicited announcement of our upcoming Post-UTME screening registration by a so-called 247 Connect Edu feed.

“While it is true that registration exercise begins on November 7, we want to warn prospective candidates that the University of Ilorin has nothing to do with this self-acclaimed registration and admission guide,” he said.

The varsity spokesman therefore advised admission seekers to strictly follow the registration instruction as contained in the advertisement and obtained on the Unilorin website: www.unilorin.edu.ng.

“The University of Ilorin does not release any phone number for candidates to contact for any guidelines.

“All enquiries concerning Post-UTME registration guidelines should be directed only to pre-admission@unilorin.edu.ng.

“Please beware of prowling scammers,” he advised.

Yaba College of Technology, Yaba Tech, says arrangements have been concluded for the conduct of its Post United Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME.

It said the examination would now hold virtually from March 16 to March 22.

Mr Joe Ejiofor, Deputy Registrar and Head of Corporate Affairs of the institution disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, on Friday in Lagos.

He noted that the decision was reached after a meeting of the institution’s admission committee.

According to him, the measure became necessary in a bid to observe the Coronavirus, COVID-19, safety protocol as spelt out by the federal government.

He stated that the institution however remained shut following a COVID-19 scare, while online lectures for its undergraduates were ongoing.

“The admission committee have just met and the outcome is that the post UTME for candidates seeking admission have been fixed for next month, but will be held online.

“As we all know the COVID-19 protocol is still very much obtainable and observed, hence the decision for the examination to be written and monitored online for 2020/2021 academic session.

“We expect the concerned candidates to make the best use of this development and the time in between, to do the needful and get themselves ready for the Post UTME,” he stated.

He disclosed that only those who performed credibly in the examination would be considered for placement in the college for the 2020/2021 academic session.

According to him, the institution would make use of candidates’ data made available during the UTME, to get necessary information across to enable them hook up on the portal for the test.

The University of Lagos has fixed August 1 to August 21 for its Post Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, Post-UTME, screening into all courses/programmes for the 2019/2020 academic year.

This is contained in a statement issued by the school Registrar, Mr Oladejo Azeez, in Lagos, on Saturday.

The Registrar said only candidates who made the institution their first choice in the 2019 UTME and scored 200 and above are eligible for the screening upon payment of screening fee of N2, 000.

“Candidates who will not be 16 years of age by October 31 are not eligible and need not apply.

“In the same vein, candidates who do not participate in the UTME screening will not be considered for placement,’’ he said.

Specifically, Azeez said that the post-UTME aptitude test would hold from Monday, August 26 to Friday, August 30.

He said that candidates must possess five credits passes at one sitting in relevant O’ Level subjects including English Language and Mathematics.

The Registrar noted that former students of the institution whose admissions were withdrawn on the basis of poor academic performance or absence status could reapply.

The fresh application, according to him, would be on condition that the “new admission shall be for a new programme/course different from the former programme/course.’’

He warned that any student expelled from the university would not be offered fresh admission.

The Registrar urged eligible candidates to log on to the university’s website, “www.unilag.edu.ng’’, click on admission and follow the registration procedure.

“Candidates are to log in with their post UTME number as user name and the surname in lower cases as password and then continue with the procedure to generate their post UTME Examination Pass,’’ he said.

Azeez urged candidates to adhere strictly to the guidelines and obtain necessary clarifications.

He warned that the university had zero tolerance for drug abuse as any student found wanting would lose his/her studentship.
