Demands for Nigerian Aviation Handling Company, Deap Capital Management, Omatek Ventures, Zichis Agro Allied Industries, Austinlaz and 55 other equities drove the market’s positive performance.

Specifically, the market capitalisation which opened at N109.129 trillion, gained N1.105 billion or 1.01 per cent to close at N110.234 trillion.

The All-Share Index also gained by 1.01 per cent or 1,722.13 points, to close at 171,727.49, against 170,005.36 recorded on Thursday.

This led the Year-to-date return to 10.36 per cent.

Also, the market breadth closed positive with 60 gainers and 19 losers.

Nigerian Aviation Handling Company, Deap Capital Management and Omatek Ventures led the gainers’ chart by 10 per cent each, finishing at N136.40, N6.82 and N2.64 per share respectively.

Zichis Agro Allied Industries and Austinlaz grew by 9.98 per cent each, closing at N6.72 and N5.40 per share respectively.

Conversely, The Initiates led the losers’ chart by 9.74 per cent, settling at N19.45, Daar Communications trailed by 7.32 per cent, closing at N1.90.

The United Capital shed by 6.55 per cent, finishing at N18.55 per share.

Also, WAPIC Insurance dipped by 5.71 per cent, ending the session at N3.30 and First Holding Company lost by 5.53 per cent, closing at N47 per share.

A total of 953.8 million shares worth N43.1 billion were exchanged in 51,005 deals, against 712.9 million shares valued at N22.3 billion that was traded across 46,104 transactions.

This showed a 34 per cent increase in volume, 94 per cent growth in turnover, and 11 per cent improvement in deals.

Fidelity Bank recorded the highest volume with 92.39 million shares traded, accounting for 9.69 per cent of the day’s total volume.

Presco recorded the highest value traded at N11.27 billion, accounting for 26.15 per cent of the total value traded for the day.

This was primarily driven by sustained interest in stocks like Austinlaz, Industrial and Medical Gases, Union Dicon Salt, Zichis Agro Allied Industries, RT Briscoe and 30 other equities.

The market capitalisation, which opened at N106.162 trillion, closed at N106.494 trillion, recording a gain of 0.31 per cent or N332 billion.

Similarly, the All-Share Index rose from 165,384.64 to 165,901.57, an increase of 0.31 per cent or 516.93 points.

Also, market sentiment closed bullish, with 35 gainers against 34 decliners.

Industrial and Medical Gases, Union Dicon Salt, Zichis Agro Allied Industries and Austinlaz led the gainers’ chart by 10 per cent each, closing at N34.65, N9.90, N5 06 and N4.07 per share respectively.

RT Briscoe gained by 9.95 per cent, finishing at N9.50 per share.

Conversely, Cutix and Omatek Ventures led the losers’ chart by 10 per cent each, settling at N3.15 and N2.43 per share.

Also, Union Homes Real Estate Investment dropped by 9.95 per cent, ending the session at N76.90, Sunu Assurances shed by 9.94 per cent, closing at N4.62 while Deap Capital Management fell by 9.93 per cent, finishing at N7.62 per share.

A total of 736.4 million shares valued at N24.7 billion were exchanged across 46,026 transactions, compared to 762.8 million shares worth N18.4 billion that was earlier traded in 55,374 deals.

This revealed a 3.45 per cent decline in the volume, 17 per cent fall in deals and 29 per cent increase in the market value.

GTCO recorded the highest volume and value, with 65.90 million shares traded at N6.53 billion.

This accounted for 8.95 per cent and 26.47 per cent of the day’s total volume and value, respectively.

Market capitalisation, which opened at N106.153 trillion, rose by N9 billion, or 0.01 per cent, to close at N106.162 trillion.

Similarly, the All-Share Index (ASI) gained 0.01 per cent, or 14.24 points, to settle at 165,384.64, up from 165,370.40 recorded on Friday.

However, market breadth ended negative, with 44 declined stocks, compared to 30 that advanced.

Omatek led the losers’ chart by 10 per cent, closing at N2.70, Union Homes Real Estate Investment trailed by 9.96 per cent, settling at N85.40 while AXA Mansard fell by 9.94 per cent, ending the session at N14.31 per share.

Deap Capital Management dropped by 9.90 per cent, finishing at N8.46 and Cileasing shed by 9.80 per cent, closing at N6.90 per share.

On the other hand, Premier Paint and Universal Insurance led the gainers’ chart by 10 per cent each, ending the session at N11 and N1.32 per share.

Daar Communications rose by 9.93 per cent, finishing at N1.55, RT Briscoe increased by 9.92 per cent, settling at N8.64 and Morison grew by 9.91 per cent, closing at N10.98 per share.

Analysis of the market activity showed an overall increase in the market deals, volume and value.

Investors traded a total of 762.8 million shares in value of N18.4 billion across 55 374 deals, compared with 687.4 million shares valued at NN14.9 billion exchanged in 41,553 deals posted previously.

Meanwhile, Tantaliser recorded the highest volume with 88.49 million shares, accounting for 11.60 per cent of the total volume traded for the day.

Zenith Bank recorded the highest value traded at N2.87 billion, accounting for 15.61 per cent of total value traded for the day.

The positive performance was due to returned investors interest in stocks like Skye Shelter Fund, Royal Exchange, International Energy Insurance, Julius Berger, Omatek and 29 other stocks.

Specifically, the market capitalisation, which opened at N93.756 trillion, added N20 billion to close at N93.776 trillion.

Similarly, the All-Share Index soared by 0.20 per cent or 31.27 points, settling at 147,742.23 compared with 147,710.96 recorded on Tuesday.

Also, the market breadth closed positive with 34 gainers against 28 losers.

On the gainers’ table, Skye Shelter Fund led by 9.88 per cent, ending the session at N418.75, Royal Exchange trailed by 7.37 per cent, settling at N2.33 and International Energy Insurance increased by 6.05 per cent, closing at N2.98 per share.

Julius Berger rose by 5.51 per cent, finishing at N134 while Omatek Ventures soared by 4.90 per cent, settling at N1.50 per share.

On the contrary, Tripple Gee led the losers’ table by 9.91 per cent, closing at N4.91, Industrial and Medical Gases followed by 9.87 per cent, finishing at N32.40 while UAC of Nigeria dropped by 6.46 per cent, ending the session at N68 per share.

Ellah Lakes dipped by 4.66 per cent, closing at N13.30 and Ja Paul Gold fell by 4.51 per cent, settling at N2.54 per share.

The market activity showed an overall improvement in the market volume, value and deals as 389.1 million shares valued at N12.5 billion were traded across 23,017 transactions.

This is compared to 262.5 million shares worth N8.3 billion that was exchanged across 16,693 transactions earlier on Tuesday.

Transactions in the shares of Fidelity Bank topped the activity chart in volume with 46.9 million shares valued at N942.3 million.

CHAMS followed with 24.8 million shares worth N101.4 million while Zenith Bank traded 20.8 million shares valued at N1.42 billion.

Access Corporation transacted 19.2 million shares worth N495.3 million and FirstHoldCo sold 16.6 million shares valued at N519.7 million.
