Kolapo had challenged the victory of Governor Kayode Fayemi of the All Progressives Congress, APC, at the Appeal Court after losing at the tribunal set up to hear cases over the election.

But on Thursday, the Appeal Court agreed with the tribunal which had earlier dismissed the case.

Expressing regret over the verdict, Kolapo vowed to go to the Supreme Court.

He said his lawyers would study the judgement and proceed.

He appealed to his supporter to be prayerful saying that it was not the end of the case.

“Let us remain prayerful, it is not over until it’s over. I have hope in the judiciary and I strongly believe that in the end, justice will be served,” he said.

This is as it dismissed the suit filed by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate in the Ekiti State governorship election, Olusola Kolapo.

Fayemi is of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

According to the three-man panel led by Steven Adah, the appeal by Kolapo lacked merit.

It said the tribunal’s declaration earlier that Fayemi was duly elected was in order.
