The announcement was made in a statement issued by the spokesperson for the command, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, on Sunday.

Ojelabi explained that the two officers of the NCS were arrested in connection with a shooting incident that occurred at Dada Estate Area, Osogbo, on Sunday.

“‎The suspects were reportedly chasing suspected tokunbo (foreign-used) vehicles when the incident occurred.

“Meanwhile, the driver of the said ash-coloured Toyota Corolla, one of the vehicles being chased by the Customs officers, was shot and confirmed dead by a medical doctor at the Osun State University Teaching Hospital,” he said.

The command’s spokesperson said that the corpse of the yet-to-be-identified victim had been deposited in a morgue.

Ojelabi said several items were recovered from the scene, including a Beretta pistol with breech number 125024, 11 rounds of 9mm live ammunition and one expanded 9mm shell.

Other items recovered were a white Toyota Corolla with Lagos registration number AAA 400 GQ, and an ash Toyota Corolla with registration number GFQ 0982.

He said that the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan, had ordered a thorough investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident.

‎He assured members of the public that anyone found culpable would face the full wrath of the law.

He urged residents to remain calm and continue to cooperate with security agencies by providing credible information that can aid the investigation.

This is contained in a wanted notice issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, in the state, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, on Friday in Osogbo.

Ojelabi said that anyone with useful information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects would be rewarded.

“The public is hereby notified that Adumati Idowu and Faturoti Kehinde, both Nigerian nationals from Ijurin-Ekiti in Ekiti State, are wanted by the Nigeria Police, Osun State Command.

“The suspects are wanted in connection with the offence of murder.

“Adumati Idowu is about 38 years old, dark in complexion, with white teeth, about 1.7 metres tall, pointed nose, oblong head, black hair, and of Yoruba ethnic origin.

“Faturoti Kehinde, also known as ‘Fagorite’, is about 36 years old, dark in complexion, with white teeth, about 1.7 metres tall, pointed nose, oblong head, black hair, and of Yoruba ethnic origin.

“Both suspects are wanted for the murder of Mrs Funmilayo Lasisi, 38, and her 10-year-old daughter, Sewa Lasisi,” he said.

The PPRO added that anyone with useful information about the whereabouts of the suspects would be handsomely rewarded.

He urged anyone who sights or knows the whereabouts of the suspects to contact the nearest police station or call: 09060052947, 08039537995, or 08123823981.

Ojelabi warned that anyone harbouring the suspects would be treated by the police as an accomplice to the crime.

The police had on December 3, 2025, paraded three suspects arrested in connection with the killings, while two other suspects were said to be on the run.

Police said one of the suspects, an herbalist, on November 17, 2025, led detectives to Esa-Odo Dam in Obokun local government area, where the remains of the FRSC officer and her daughter were dumped.

Police also said some vital body parts, including the head, breasts, hands and private parts, were missing from the victims’ remains.

The victims were reportedly lured from Ogun to Osun, where they were murdered by the suspects.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Friday in Osogbo by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi.

Ojelabi said the suspects, on February 18, inscribed the words “BANDIT TODAY TODAY” on a resident’s wall in the Ajegunle area of Ila-Orangun.

He said the inscription triggered panic, prompting some residents to flee amid fears of an imminent banditry attack.

“Immediately the report was received, operatives of the State Intelligence Department swung into action.

“Through diligent intelligence analysis, the suspects, based in the Ila-Orangun axis, were arrested,” Ojelabi said.

He said preliminary investigations revealed that one of the suspects admitted writing the words on the wall.

“He confessed to committing the act and claimed he acted out of ignorance,” Ojelabi said.

According to him, the alleged offences border on conspiracy and conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace.

Ojelabi urged residents to shun acts capable of causing panic and advised them to go about their lawful activities.

He added that the police remained focused on sustaining the peace for which Osun had long been known.

The Head of Corporate Communication, Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority, LAMATA, Mr Kolawole Ojelabi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday.

Ojelabi said Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu approved the increase after appeals from regulated operators over mounting economic pressures threatening operational sustainability.

“The new fare structure will take effect from Monday, March 2,” he said.

He explained that the adjustment was aimed at cushioning the impact of sustained economic challenges affecting public transport operations.

“The review is also in line with the previously approved annual fare review mechanism,” Ojelabi added.

He cited persistent inflationary trends, noting that Nigeria’s inflation rate closed 2025 at 15.2 per cent, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.

According to him, bus operating companies continue to grapple with rising maintenance costs, expensive spare parts and higher wage bills following the new national minimum wage.

“In a bid to maintain and improve standards, operators are investing in cleaner, fuel-efficient buses to enhance passenger comfort and environmental sustainability,” he said.

He added that the government remained committed to balancing affordability with safe, reliable and efficient public transport across the state.

Speaking with newsmen after a party stakeholders’ meeting in Ikeja, the chairman of the five-man APC Screening Committee, Mr Nungji Salama, said the team was ready to conduct a seamless congress.

Describing the state as a pace-setter, Salama said the committee had made adequate arrangements for a rancour-free exercise across the 20 local government areas.

Salama said: “Today’s exercise is very germane to the success of tomorrow’s exercise.

“We appreciate all the committees set up here to assist in one way or the other for the smooth running of the congress.

“We have successfully conducted the ward congress without any problem. Now, we are starting the processes leading to the LGA congress holding tomorrow.

“We thank all aspirants for offering themselves to serve our great party.

“We want all to serve diligently for the peace and progress of our party. We want to carry out this next exercise in a peaceful atmosphere without any rancour.”

He said the list of screened candidates would be pasted, urging those who did not emerge to be sportsmanlike.

“There will be another time. I hope there will be no rancour and problems,” he added.

Salama explained that 27 executives would emerge in each of the local government areas.

“There are consensus arrangements. If people agree unanimously, we will just go and ratify it,” he said.

In his welcome address, the State APC chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, applauded the committee, saying the assignment was critical to deepening democracy and strengthening the party.

“We cannot thank you enough for the sacrifices, leaving your homes to serve the party. God will reward you accordingly.

“We also appreciate the state technical committee for preparing the ground for the national officers saddled with the responsibility of conducting the congress.

“We, as a party here, do not have the right to conduct the congress because we are an interested party.

“We thank this very eminent personality sent by the national secretariat to conduct this exercise in Lagos State,” he said.

Ojelabi urged party leaders at the local government level to deepen their knowledge of the newly assented amended Electoral Act and called on successful candidates to see their emergence as a call to service.

“It is a call to service for you to deepen our democracy and make an impact in strengthening and mobilising to drive our party.

“It is not going to be business as usual. You are offering yourselves to serve. Be prepared; you must work assiduously for the success of our party.

“You cannot work in isolation. Leadership is very critical in defending our party. The youth cannot be left behind and the power of women cannot be ignored.

“Those of you who want to represent us at the local government level must show capacity and be prepared for the job,” he said.

He expressed optimism that  the executive committees expected to emerge in each of the 20 local government areas would effectively drive the party.

The meeting was attended by party leaders, including the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs ‘Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin, and  the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice  Mr Lawal Pedro.

As of the time of filing this report, the list of screened candidates in each of the 20 local government areas had yet to be pasted at the party secretariat.

A statement by the spokesperson for the command, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, said the suspect was arrested after the victim’s mother reported the incident at Ilesa Police Divisional Headquarters.

“The Police Command in Osun State wishes to inform the general public that following a complaint on November 16, a case of defilement was reported at ‘C’ Divisional Headquarters Ilesa area against a 50-year-old man.

“The report was lodged by the mother of the 12 years old girl, who is the victim, as she discovered a whitish slimy substance on her daughter’s underwear while doing laundry.

“Upon questioning, the victim opened up that the suspect, who is their neighbour, had carnal knowledge of her,” the statement said.

The statement said upon receipt of the report, the police immediately took the girl to an approved medical facility for medical examination.

“It was discovered that the girl has been sexually assaulted, including forceful penetration,” it said.

The statement said the case was subsequently referred to family and gender unit of the State Criminal Investigation Department.

It stated that the victim had been taken to a succour centre for continued medical care, where she was confirmed to be malnourished from home.

The statement said upon further investigation, it was discovered the assault reported was not the first, as the suspect had been defiling the victim since July, 2025.

It said the suspect exploited the vulnerable condition of the victim’s mother, who is a widow with no stable source of livelihood.

“The suspect reportedly gave the victim N200 after each act, for her to buy food.

“The State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan, condemns this disturbing act and all forms of child abuse, molestation and exploitation,” the statement reads.

The statement urged parents and guardians to be vigilant and report any suspicion to the nearest police station and relevant authorities.

“Together, we can protect our children and uphold justice,” it added.

DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, the command’s spokesperson, in a statement on Thursday in Osogbo described the claim as baseless, misleading and aimed at causing panic among residents.

“The attention of Police Command has been drawn to a viral AI generated videos released on social media disseminating false information that bandits are coming to Ilesa, Osun State.

“This claim is entirely baseless, misleading, and deliberately crafted to cause fear, panic, incitement and breach of public peace.

“The command strongly condemns the state of rising cases of false information/alarms and enjoins members of the public to avoid generating AI Animations/Videos/Images and posting/forwarding unverified information capable of causing panic in the state,” he said.

He said the state Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan, had deployed both overt and covert personnel to Ilesa axis and other parts of the state to forestall any breakdown of law and order.

He urged residents to report any suspicion or suspicious persons or situation to the nearest police station or call the state police emergency lines: 08039537995 and 08123823981.

He said the Police Command in Osun remained committed to the protection of lives and properties of residents at all time.

The donation was made on Saturday shortly after a brief meeting with the local government chairmen at Cathedral Church Primary School, Broad Street, Lagos Island.

Items presented to the chairmen included 57 HP desktop printers, 57 Lenovo Laptops, 57 power generating set, 57 MTN wifi with subscription for six months, 57 electric standing fans, 57 surge protector extension leads, 57 HP mouse and banner for public awareness for the registration.

The presentation came along with the donation of N200,000 to each local government chairman for the mobilisation of those who would do the job for six months.

Speaking at the gathering, Ajose said that he made the donation in appreciation of the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu both at the federal and state levels.

He promised to do more if the president is re-elected in 2027.

He stated that the secret of continuity was to win elections and that to win elections, the APC must record massive votes.

He said that could only be achieved when members of the public had access to vote and that the means of voting was the PVC.

He added that that was why he wanted the people to get their PVCs, and the reasons he was supporting the party with logistics and manpower.

He stated further that people who had PVCs through the support of APC would be willing and happy to vote for the party and that that was why they were not just calling on members of the public to enrol in the exercise, but provide them with the means to ease the process at all cost.

Ajose said that he wanted to recruit more members for the APC, and that “we want the exercise to go to the grassroots, reach the common man and make a positive change in our society.”

The 49-year-old philanthropist and an indigene of Badagry, Lagos State, is the CEO of Samuel Ajose Foundation.

He told journalists that the awareness campaign and support was part of planning ahead the victory of President Bola Tinubu in 2027 and that his victory could only come with massive and bulk votes.

That, he said, would make him continue the great job he started, ranging from the Lagos-Calabar Expressway, the approved seaport in Badagry, and other big infrastructure and gigantic amenities across the nation.

He appealed to members of the public across the 57 local government areas to go out enmasse to utilise the opportunity by enrolling for their PVCs, which he said would also be useful to them in other areas apart from exercising their franchise.

Commenting on the exercise, the Chairman of the APC in Lagos State, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, who was represented by his deputy, Hon. Moshood Mayegun, applauded Ajose for his love for the party, courage, sportsmanship and  dedication to the party and members of the public.

He said, “truly, you are a member of our great party and your actions today have shown the undiluted love you have for the party and members of the public and you have written your name in gold in the hearts of the party members.”

Mayegun said that the party was so grateful for the materials and that it would be a smooth exercise in collaboration with what the INEC had provided and that it was a pathway to victory for the party in the coming polls.

In his acceptance speech, the chairman of the conference 57 local government chairman in Lagos State, Mayegun Balley Adeogun, and his deputy, Rasheed Shobaloju, spoke on behalf of others.

They thanked Ajose for the donations and promised that the materials would be used judiciously and that they would deliver on the mandate given to them.

The duo said his single action would also strengthen the local government areas party secretariat.

It is on record that Ajose contributed to the victory of the 15 APC chairmanship candidates from Badagry division as he gave them N10 million each, and empowered 250 female traders in Badagry with 200 thousand naira each for growing their businesses.

He also donated another N18 million to support the capital base of the local government’s cooporative society yesterday.

INEC began the continuous voters registration exercise on Friday, August 15.

Mr Isaac Omoyele, the Osun Amotekun Commander, made this known is a statement made available to journalists in Osogbo on Sunday.

Omoyele explained that an Amotekun personnel, Peter Tope, was violent attacked at about 5.45p.m, at Ijeda area, Ijebu Jesa, resulting in his death in the earlier hours of Sunday.

“The incident occurred around 5:45 p.m. when a soldier, who was recently recruited into the Nigerian Army, launched an unprovoked assault on the Amotekun operative.

“The soldier, dressed in military camouflage, approached the Amotekun station in Ijebu-Jesa with hostile intent and made some uncomplimentary comments about the Corps.

“What subsequently followed after his comments was that he and his cohorts launched unprovoked attacked on one Amotekun personnel who was coming on his motorcycle.

“They reportedly stopped the Amotekun personnel, knocked him down from his motorcycle, by hitting him with a hard object on the head.

“The attack on him lasted for about 20 minutes, leaving the Amotekun personnel injured and rolling in the pool of blood,” he said.

Omoyele said the soldier and his accomplices thereafter left the scene on commercial motorcycles.

Omoyele said other operatives of the Corps later evacuated Tope to Wesley Guild Hospital in Ilesa and reported the incident at Divisional Police Headquarters in Ijebu-Jesa.

“Unfortunately, despite efforts to save his life, Officer Peter Samuel Tope succumbed to his injuries early Sunday morning,” he said.

Omoyele demanded a thorough investigation into the matter, vowing that no effort would be spared in ensuring that those responsible for the attack were brought to justice.

When contacted, Police spokesperson in Osun, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, confirmed the incident, saying that the police were working to arrest the prime suspect (an Army Private).

“It was reported by the Amotekun Commander in Ijebu Jesa that the suspect used his jack-knife to attack two Amotekun officials, injuring them.

“They were taken to the hospital but one has been reported dead while the other is receiving treatment.

“We have the details of the suspect who is an Army Private,” Ojelabi said.

Fracas ensued when some suspected members of a cult group in Osogbo, who were part of a masquerade’s procession, entered into the territory of a rival cult group.

An eyewitness said that the clash which occurred at about 7:00 p.m, on Sunday snowballed into a gun battle and one of the cult members was shot in the head and died on the spot.
