“All these were possible because the college is well equipped with relevant Information Communication Technologies,” Onibon said.

Resuscitate moribund sites in Epe Division, the Provost, Michael Otedola College of Primary Education, MOCPED, Noforija, Epe, Lagos State, Professor Nosiru Olajide Onibon, has urged the Babajide Sanwo-olu administration.

Onibon made this plea at the Epe stakeholders meeting, held at MOCPED.

The theme of the event is “Next level: Whither Epe Division .”

The Provost said that the call became necessary in order to boost the commercial activities in the communities and create employment opportunity for the indigenes.

He noted that certain amenities were necessary for the government to take Nigeria to the next level in line with the determination of President Muhammodu Buhari-led APC administration.

Some of the abandoned sites, he said, were Epe Plywood, Oluwo Fish Market, Boats Yard, Adebowale Lamp Industry, Sungbo Eredo, Ejirin Market and other tourists attraction sites.

Professor Onibon noted that Epe division enjoyed copious rainfall typical of the rainforest belt of Nigeria.

“Epe land is fertile and suitable for agriculture. The forest provides raw material for veritable boat building industry,” he said.

He then expressed his displeasure over the backwardness of Epe division among other divisional areas of Lagos State.

He said Ikorodu, Badagry, Lagos Island and Ikeja divisions had surpassed Epe in the areas of infrastructure development.

He further stressed the need for an enabling environment, ease of transportation, as well as improved security.

Onibon commended the past administration of Lagos State led by Akinwunmi Ambode for providing Epe division with some basic infrastructure.

He said some of the basic amenities needed for the next level government should include strong, functional institutions that could stand the test of time.

Some of the basic amenities according to him were motorable roads, constant power supply, regular supply of pipe borne water, affordable and qualitative education.

He further stressed the need for enabling environment for business to grow, improved and accessible health services, ease transportation system as well as improved security of lives and properties.

In his own contribution, Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja, the Aladeshoyin of Noforija, urged the state government to improve on security surveillances in the division.

He said that protection of life and properties should be government’s top priority for people in Epe division and the entire citizens of Nigeria.

The monarch appealed to both federal and state representatives in Epe division to be upright in discharging their mandates.

He urged the present administration of Lagos State to fulfil their campaign promises for Epe division people and to Lagos state in general.
