“I’m happy to be in Nigeria today because I’m alive,” he said.

Ekente, a businessman, briefly explained the gory situation he went through in a brief interview with the BBC:

“My club was destroyed and burnt.

“So I couldn’t come out with even a pea or even one cent. They looted and took away everything.

“I’m happy to be in Nigeria today because I’m alive,” he said.

The second batch of returnees arrived Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, at 7.22 p.m. on Wednesday.

They were brought home with the assistance of the Federal Government which issued a directive to that effect.

Air Peace has also offered the flight back home free of charge.

On Wednesday, the House of Representatives passed a motion recommending Mr. Allen Onyema, Air Peace boss for national award in view of the help he rendered.

The legislative house said he had restored the dignity of Nigerians stranded in South Africa and needed to be appreciated.
