The scholarship is to see them through university education.

The sponsorship which covers tuition, accommodation, and living expenses is for deserving individuals from less-privileged backgrounds within her church and across different states in Nigeria.

Expressing her commitment to fostering a new generation of leaders, Rev. Ajayi stated during the church service on January 14, 2024:  “This is my contribution to the development of a new generation of leaders.”

Additionally, she acknowledged and awarded 20 students during the service, recognising their commendable backgrounds and academic achievements.

Emphasising her vision, she underscored the significance of impacting lives and ensuring that the youths are well-prepared for the challenges ahead.

“By the grace of God, I am a graduate, as is every member of my family. Therefore, it is only fitting that the youths around me receive an education as well, recognising that the younger generation is our future,” she articulated.

Encouraging the congregation to support the youth beyond their external appearances, Rev. Ajayi urged them to unlock their full potential in service to God and humanity.

“For the youths, they must realise that there is no limitation to what they can achieve if they trust God and remain focused,” she added, offering words of encouragement.

The beneficiaries and their parents expressed gratitude during the ceremony, offering prayers for Rev. Ajayi and her family’s continued success in ministry and long life.

Master Johnson Daniel, a recipient, conveyed his appreciation, stating: “I am deeply grateful to the Esther Ajayi Foundation for restoring my lost hope. I never imagined that I would be able to pursue education beyond the secondary level, let alone attend a private university. A mother who cares for all the children around her has chosen to provide me and many others with a future and expected end.”

The announcement is contained in a statement on Thursday by the chairman, Iyalla Secretariat Building Committee, Mrs Adenike Sodipo.

Sodipo said the project, began about four years ago by the previous administration, had been completed and ready to be put to use immediately after the inauguration, courtesy of Rev. Mother Ajayi.

According to her, completion of the project is a testimony to the maxim that government is a continuum as exemplified by the Adeleye Ajayi-led Lagos NUJ Executive Council.

She expressed her appreciation to Rev. Mother Ajayi and the Lagos State government for making the remodelling dream a reality.

“Lagos NUJ has shown that government is a continuum because as a country we were used to seeing a project becoming abandoned after the originator of the project left office.

“This secretariat remodeling completion is a symbol of progress in our union and it is to say to the world that notwithstanding our challenges as journalists, we deserve the best of life,” Sodipo said.

The chairman of the council, Mr Adeleye Ajayi, commended his predecessor, Dr Qasim Akinreti, for starting the project, saying its completion during his own administration symbolised unity in the union.

“Our Lagos Council is a progressive and united council. We are inaugurating the remodelled building to the glory of God and for the comfort of journalists who deserve the best.

“With this befitting edifice, every journalist can beat his or her chest because we now have something to be proud of, ” he said.

The chairman also commended the executive administration of Mrs Funke Fadugba, for her foresight in acquiring the original one-storey building for Lagos journalists two decades ago.

He recalled that the Fadugba-led Lagos NUJ Executive members bought the one-storey building between 2002-2005, and it served as a secretariat for the council till it was remodeled.

“From the one-storey building bought by our great leader, Mrs Funke Fadugba has come this two-storey state-of-the-art building that will be inaugurated on Saturday,” he said.

Ajayi listed facilities in the building to include an ICT centre, conference hall, offices and an open space for social gathering.

The secretariat is also fitted with a 24-hour wireless internet as well as a workstation for journalists willing to write their daily reports and send to their offices.

The high point of the day will be the conferment of Grand Matron Award on Rev. Mother Ajayi, who helped in the completion of the building, and for her service to humanity.

The church will be celebrating its first anniversary and 15 years of divine ministration by Rev. Mother Esther Abimbola Ajayi.

The first anniversary celebration will be on September 4, 2022.

The Lagos centre of the church was inaugurated on September 5, 2021 and consecrated by the General Overseer, Worldwide, of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, and other anointed ministers of God in Christendom from the different denominations.

The first congregational service was held on September 12, 2021.

According to Rev. Mother Ajayi, the LOCI is a force for unification in Christ and a symbol of the oneness of the body of Christ.

She said: “It’s important to promote unity in Christ and oneness of the message of salvation of humanity as ordained by our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

“That is one mission we cherish and will hold on to, even to the end of time.”

Iya Adura, as she is fondly called, started her spiritual journey at childhood, but gave her life to Christ in 1993 at the Faith Bible College in Ota, Ogun State.

The formation of Love of Christ Generation Church (Cherubim and Seraphim) was inspired by a revelation in 2007 “Where the Glory of God Shines” was established by Ajayi in London, United Kingdom.

About 18 people worshipped on that day in the family house at Edmonton.

Today, the church boasts of over 10,000 worshipers combined at the Lagos and London LOCI centres.

The Love of Christ Generation (C & S) has continued to grow attracting Christian faithful and new converts who seek a better relationship with God through the practical Christian teaching and impartation under the leadership of Rev. Mother Ajayi.

Activities have been lined up for the weeklong double celebrations.
