Mr Isaac Elijah, the Public Relations Officer of the command made this known on Tuesday in Badagry.

Elijah said the 45-year-old woman was kidnapped on Monday along Badagry-Mile 2 Expressway in Lagos.

He said the woman left her home in Sawmill, Badagry around 7 a.m. for Trade Fair complex on the same route to buy goods when she was kidnapped.

“One of the kidnappers used the woman’s phone to contact her husband, CSI Abel Mada, requesting for a sum of N7 million in ransom to free his wife.

“Today (Tuesday) about 6.00.a.m., one of kidnappers called again reducing the ransom to N3 million if the husband wants the woman alive,” he said.

The PRO said that the case had been reported  at the Badagry Police Station and Area K Zonal office of the Nigeria Police.

He urged members of the public who had any information regarding the kidnap to contact the family on 0808 088 3848.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, made this known in a statement on Friday in Port Harcourt.

She said the suspects were handed over to the police by residents of Rumuduru.

According to her, the two suspects operated separate churches within the community.

“The fake pastors were handed over to the police by youths from Rumuduru, led by their president, Henry Worlu, on January 20.

“The youths raided the area and arrested Bassey and Elijah from their respective churches.

“During interrogation, Bassey admitted to using spiritual materials, such as water and oil, to heal individuals suffering from spiritual afflictions..

“He also revealed that he used a small casket and a ‘miracle life oil’ to pray for people with mental issues, claiming they would recover within three months,” Iringe-Koko said.

She added that the Bassey had been residing and operating in the Rumuduru community for 17 years.

Items recovered from the suspects include a firearm cartridge, small wooden caskets, a sword, a fake Nigerian Navy identification card, and thousands of photographs.

Other items seized were children’s footwears, a police lanyard, and various crosses and spiritual materials.

“The suspects and the recovered exhibits are currently in police custody, and a discreet investigation is ongoing,” Iringe-Koko confirmed.

Since that fateful day in 29th June at Durodola Street, Idiaraba, Mushin Local Government Area of Lagos State, the boy has lost schooling days, missed his promotion exams and the sordid story just goes on and on.
