										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Kaduna State, Rev. John Hayab, has confirmed that 120 abducted students of Bethel Baptist High School in Kaduna State have been freed so far.</p>
<p>In a statement issued in Kaduna on Saturday, Hayab recalled that in the early hour of July 5, 2021, bandits invaded the school located at Maraban Damishi, Chikun local government area of Kaduna State and kidnapped 121 students.</p>
<p>He said the number of the released students of Bethel Baptist High School included one student who was freed on December 28, 2021 and another one who was freed on January 1.</p>
<p>“With the release of these two students, a total of 120 students have regained their freedom so far and only one student is still with the bandits,” he said.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Another batch of 10 abducted students of Bethel Baptist High School, Maraban Damishi, in Chikun local government area of Kaduna State have regained their freedom, bringing the total of those released to 110.</p>
<p>The chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Kaduna State, Rev. John Hayab, confirmed the release of the students to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, on Sunday, in Kaduna, adding that the students were freed on Sunday afternoon.</p>
<p>“Yes, 10 more students of Baptist High School were released this afternoon. We have 11 now with the bandits, we thank all Nigerians for their prayers and support. Trusting God that the rest will be released very soon,” Hayab said .</p>
<p>Recall that in the early hours of July 5, bandits invaded Bethel Baptist High School and kidnapped 121 students.</p>
<p>When contacted, the Kaduna State Police Command Public Relations Officer, ASP Muhammad Jalige, confirmed the release of the 10 students</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Fifteen more abducted students of Bethel Baptist High School, Maraban Damishi, Kaduna State, have regained their freedom, after 48 days in captivity.</p>
<p>Rev. John Hayab, the state chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, made this known when he spoke with newsmen in Kaduna on Sunday.</p>
<p>“Fifteen more students were released on Saturday night and 65 students are still with the bandits, ” he said.</p>
<p>Bandits in the early hours of July 5, invaded the school and kidnapped an unspecified number of students.</p>
<p>ASP Mohammed Jalige, spokesperson for the police command in the state also confirmed the release of the students.</p>
<p>Jalige, however, said that the police was not in the picture of whether ransom was paid by the parents before the students release or not.</p>
<p>“We are not aware of that,” he said.</p>

<p>The chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Kaduna State, Rev. John Hayab, confirmed the development on Monday in Kaduna.</p>
<p>“Yes, another four students escaped from their abductors on Sunday, July 25, and have been reunited with their parents,” Hayab said.</p>
<p>He said that in spite of the latest development, 83 students are still in captivity.</p>
<p>It would be recalled that bandits in the early hour of July 5, invaded the school and kidnapped an unspecified number of students.</p>
<p>The Police Command in Kaduna, through the Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige, has confirmed the development.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>28 more abducted students of Bethel Baptist High School, Maraban Damishi, in Chikun local government area of Kaduna State, have regained freedom.</p>
<p>The Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Kaduna State, Rev. John Hayab, confirmed the development in an interview with the <em>News Agency of Nigeria, NAN</em> on Sunday in Kaduna.</p>
<p>It would  be recalled that last week, two others had escaped from their abductors when they were sent to bring firewood.</p>
<p>Hayab said the 28 students regained their freedom on Saturday night, while 81 others were still in captivity.</p>
<p>Bandits invaded the school and kidnapped unspecified number of students in the early hour of June 5.</p>
<p>He thanked Nigerians for their prayers and urged them not to relent until peace returned to the country.</p>
<p>Kaduna Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige, confirmed that the 28 student had regained their freedom, but did not give details.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Suspected bandits, on Monday, kidnapped unspecified number of students of Bethel Baptist High School in Damishi town of Chikun local government area in Kaduna State.</p>
<p>The bandits invaded the school at about 2:00 a.m.</p>
<p>The Public Relations Officer of the Police Command in Kaduna, ASP Mohammed Jalije, who confirmed the incident, said 17 of the students had been rescued.</p>
<p>He said that the exact number of  students abducted by the bandits was yet to be ascertained, adding that details would be made public in due course.</p>
<p>Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Kaduna State Chapter, Rev. John Hayab, said as at Friday, there were 180 boarding students in the stchool.</p>
<p>Hayab, who is also a member of the Baptist Church, said that so far, 26  students had returned, and was hopeful that more  would escape from the bandits.</p>
