The board disclosed this in a statement issued by its Public Communication Adviser, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, on Sunday in Abuja.

Benjamin said a total of 1,264,940 results from the two examination days were now available for candidates to access.

He advised candidates to check their results by sending “UTMERESULT” to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number used for registration.

According to him, the board had earlier released 632,752 results of candidates who sat for the examination on April 16.

He said the latest release brought the total number of results made available so far to 1,897,692.

Benjamin reiterated the board’s commitment to ensuring a transparent, credible and technology-driven examination process nationwide.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, made this known just as it announced the release of the results of candidates who sat for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, on Thursday.

In a press statement by its spokesman, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB warned that any candidate found culpable would face the full consequences of the law.

JAMB warned candidates against manipulating the SMS received from the official platform (55019/66019) to fabricate or alter scores with the intent to mislead others, including parents.

Such actions, it said, constituted a serious criminal offence.

“The Board treats such misconduct with the utmost gravity,” the statement reads in part.

Announcing the release of results, the board said, “The results of candidates who sat the 2026 UTME on Thursday, 16 April 2026, have been released and are now available for viewing.”

It however said candidates could only view the results and would not be able to print them yet.

“To check their results, candidates should send UTMERESULT via SMS to 55019 or 66019, using the same phone number (SIM) used during registration.

“At this stage, candidates may view their results only; printing is not yet available,” the board said.

The spokesman of the board, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, made this known on Thursday in a statement he issued.

The warning was based on the reported discrimination against an hijab-wearing candidate at Esther Oshikoya CBT Centre in Ibadan.

JAMB declared that the act of discrimination was neither perpetrated by the centre nor part of its official protocol.

It said the discrimination was carried out by an overzealous ad hoc staff member who failed to adhere to the board’s established guidelines regarding candidates’ religious attire.

The statement reads in part: “The attention of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has been drawn to an incident at the Esther Oshikoya CBT Centre in Ibadan.

“Through its monitoring mechanisms, the Board observed the occurrence during the screening exercise for the first session of the examination day on Thursday, 16th. The Board promptly intervened by calling the ad hoc official involved to order and issuing immediate instructions that no candidate wearing a hijab should be asked to remove or alter it…

“JAMB categorically affirms that such actions are not in line with its screening procedures. The Board respects the religious beliefs and customs of all Nigerians and has addressed the situation promptly and appropriately.

“We assure all candidates, regardless of faith, that their rights to religious expression including dressing remain a cornerstone of our policy.

“For the avoidance of doubt, all ad hoc staff have been further briefed and reminded of the approved procedures for screening candidates at all centres.”

The action followed the conduct of the 2026 Mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME.

The board also issued warnings to centres with minor technical issues, while one centre will no longer be used in any of the board’s examinations.

The announcement was made on Friday in a statement issued by its spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin.

He said the Mock UTME introduced to enable candidates familiarise themselves with the Computer-Based Test, CBT, environment, also served as a critical platform for the Board to assess its level of preparedness.

He stated that it provided an opportunity to identify centres that fell short of the required operational and technical standards.

Benjamin declared that in the aftermath of the 2026 Mock UTME, the board’s internal review mechanisms identified a number of centres that failed to meet the standards.

Consequently, he announced that the board had taken decisive steps, in line with its commitment to maintaining the integrity of its examination processes, to ensure that only centres that were fully prepared and compliant participated in the main UTME exercise.

The announcement was made on Thursday by the spokesman of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, in a statement he issued.

The examination is scheduled to commence from Thursday, 16th April 2026.

The board advised candidates to print their examination slips in order to confirm their examination date, venue, and time, as the exercise would be conducted over several days.

To print the examination slip, candidates should visit the Board’s website at https://www.jamb.gov.ng and click on “2026 UTME Slip Printing.”

JAMB stated that candidates were encouraged to print their slips early and familiarise themselves with their examination centres ahead of the examination date to avoid any inconvenience.

“Each candidate has been assigned a specific schedule on the notification slip which enables the candidate to arrive at the centre well ahead of examination time to allow for proper screening and accreditation before the commencement of the examination.

“This year’s examination features enhanced security measures designed to curb all forms of malpractice. Candidates and centres owners are therefore warned to desist from any form of misconduct, as strict sanctions will be applied,” the board added.

The board disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja by its spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin.

Benjamin said that the suspension was to enable the board restructure examination towns to ensure closer proximity to candidates and reduce transportation challenges on examination days.

He explained that although candidates were usually allowed to select examination towns closest to their locations, the 2026 UTME registration commenced before structural anomalies were however detected in Ekiti’s examination towns’ configuration.

Benjamin said the anomalies necessitated urgent adjustments in the interest of candidates, prompting the temporary suspension of town selection in the state.

According to him, candidates will be unable to select any examination town in Ekiti while the adjustment process is ongoing.

He, however, said that the process would be concluded shortly.

Benjamin expressed regret over any inconveniences the measure might cause the candidates affected during the ongoing registration exercise in the state.

He said that the board routinely monitored its operations and promptly addressed challenges reported by candidates.

Benjamin reaffirmed the board’s commitment to continuously improving its processes to ensure that all candidates were treated with dignity and respect.

JAMB debunked the claim on Wednesday in a statement issued by its spokesperson, Dr Fabian Benjamin, in Abuja.

“This deliberate misrepresentation is being propagated by some unscrupulous self-styled education advocates for parochial interests,” he said.

He added that in order to prevent multiple admissions, JAMB had directed that candidates should disclose their matriculation status during registration.

The spokesman explained: “It is not an offence for a candidate to register for the UTME/DE while still enrolled in an institution.  However, failure to disclose such status constitutes an offence. Disclosure simply means that once a candidate secures admission through the latest registration, the former admission automatically ceases to subsist.”

He said that findings had shown that many matriculated students were engaged as professional examination takers.

He added that the mandatory disclosure “expedites appropriate action whenever such candidates are apprehended.”

JAMB, he said, warned the public to be cautious of the so called education advocates who were perpetually eager to mislead candidates and parents for selfish gain.

He said the board urged parents to read guidelines very well and avoid accepting distorted interpretations by the so called advocates.

The admission process was earlier scheduled to end on Friday, October 31, 2025.

However, JAMB stated that following the appeal for extension as a result of the disruption caused by a number of factors including a court order directing that status quo should remain on 2025/26 admission list, which was only clearly lifted by the same court on 28th October, 2025, the deadline had been extended.

The new deadline is Monday, November 17, 2025.

The announcement was made in a statement made available to FrontPage by the spokesman of JAMB, Dr. Fabian Benjamin.

The statement reads in full:

“You will recall that the 2025 Policy Meeting on Admissions, held on 18th July, 2025, under the chairmanship of the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, CON, had fixed Friday, 31st October, 2025, as the deadline for all public universities to conclude their admission processes.

“The Board commends the zeal, diligence, and commitment demonstrated by the various public universities toward meeting this approved timeline, which was intended to allow other tiers of tertiary institutions; the private universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and innovation enterprises institutions, to complete their respective admissions ahead of the overall closing date of 31st December, 2025.

“However, owing to some emergent and compelling circumstances, the Board has found it necessary to extend the deadline for the completion of 2025 admissions into public universities from Friday, 31st October 2025, to Monday, 17th November, 2025.

The decision to extend the timeline is anchored on two key considerations:

“1. AVCNU has specially appealed for extension due to the disruption caused by a number of factors including a court order directing that status quo should remain on 2025/26 admission list, which was only clearly lifted by the same court on 28th October, 2025.

“2. In a bid to expand access in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the NUC on 29th October, 2025, released a list of 229 programmes recently accredited for 37 universities. Admission into those programmes are just being scheduled.

“In light of these developments, and to ensure fairness and inclusiveness, the Board hereby extends the deadline for the completion of 2025 public university admissions to Monday, 17th November, 2025.

“While expressing appreciation to all institutions for their tireless efforts and cooperation in meeting the initial target date, the Board wishes to emphasize that this new deadline is final and must be strictly adhered to.

“The Board remains committed to ensuring a seamless, transparent, and credible admission process that aligns with national education goals and institutional autonomy.”

The coalition, which rated the current administration “very good” in the area of road infrastructure, said it came to the conclusion after a painstaking assessment of work done in various sectors of the Nigerian economy in the last two years.

The foremost opposition voice disclosed this in a press release, signed by the coalition’s national spokesperson, Mark Adebayo, on Saturday in Abuja, after an inspection of the Abuja-Lokoja-Benin Road, among others.

Members of the steering committee of the CUPP, who were on the independent inspection team, said their intention was to go by themselves to assess the situation across key zones, so as to be able to counter the federal government’s propaganda in that sector.

They, however, affirmed that what they met on ground was so impressive that there was no way anyone who had the interest of the country at heart would play politics with such positive findings.

Those who were on the inspection tour were Barrister Emeka Benjamin Igwe, a member of the Steering Committee of CUPP; Mrs. Grace Ishaku, Steering Committee member; Dr. Abayọmi Runsewe, Steering Committee Member; Ambassador Abbah Lewis,  Steering Committee member, and National Spokesperson, Adebayo, among others.

The CUPP spokesperson stated, “As 2025 draws to a close, coalition members have been analysing work done in various sectors of the Nigerian economy under the current administration.

“This is necessary for constructive criticism of the activities of the Federal Government and to task both leaders and the electorate ahead of the 2027 election.

“As part of the ongoing assessment, members of the steering committee of the CUPP conducted an on-the-spot independent assessment of some of the ongoing road projects in a few parts of the country in order to separate facts from government propaganda.

“We might have set out initially to puncture claims of achievements by the All Progressives Congress government, especially in infrastructure development, but the impression we got in this first phase of our nationwide inspection was very positive.

“To foster the kind of development that citizens desire for Nigeria, opposition members must acknowledge when something is being done right.”

“This is why we are stating, emphatically, that, after this first phase of our independent inspection of road projects, we can safely conclude that President Bola Tinubu has done very well with road infrastructure, and kudos goes to the Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi,” Benjamin noted.

The opposition spokesperson added, “From our assessment of various sectors, so far, Umahi is inarguably the hardest working minister in the current administration, many factors considered. The many road construction and rehabilitation projects that are ongoing simultaneously across this country are incredibly vast and ambitious in scope.

“Even as opposition, if you see a positive development in the activities of the government, you should say it. Everything is not about criticism and condemnation. Constructive criticism also entails acknowledging good works where available.

“We are also impressed by the humaneness recently displayed by the Minister when he sent a delegation from the Works Ministry to condole with the people of Essan Community in Katcha Local Government Area of Niger State, following the recent tragic tanker explosion that claimed several lives and destroyed properties.

“He sent the delegation, not only to deliver the Federal Government’s message of sympathy, but to also assure the community that the road would be fixed promptly. That was a demonstration of purposeful leadership.”

The Coalition members took turns to explain that, from their field findings, it was discovered that contractors were on-site working on multifarious road projects across the country and applying new methods of road construction that combined concrete with iron for durability and higher carriage capacity in many places.

The CUPP stated, “Such roads where contractors are fully on-site include: the Abuja–Kaduna–Zaria–Kano Expressway; Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway (Phase 1); Benin–Shagamu–Ore road; Enugu–Onitsha Expressway; Abuja-Lokoja-Benin Road, currently undergoing dualisation, using concrete technology.

“Before the year runs out, we plan to embark on more on-site assessment tours and give practical feedback to the public and necessary advice to the government on our observations where necessary.

“From our practical performance indicator analysis, we can safely say that if the government continues to apply the current energy and needed resources to Nigeria’s road networks, the bad roads syndrome that has been a nightmare for the country for a long time would be a thing of the past.

“The Minister has demonstrated that a Works Minister’s job is on the field and not in air-conditioned offices. He is always seen on the road carrying out inspection and giving professional instructions

“As they say, seeing is believing. We have gone to see. From what we have observed so far, the current administration is working well in that area. Senator David Umahi may end up being the best Works Minister so far if he continues with his current trajectory. This sector is one where President Tinubu has definitely scored very high.”

“However, we like to remind the  government that every Nigerian reserves the right to harmlessly observe government projects as part of citizens’ civic responsibilities without harassment from security agencies. It provides an alternative feedback mechanism of government activities to the public,” the coalition noted.

Out of the 96,838 candidates scheduled for the mop-up exercise, the results of 11,161 who were present have been released.

He said candidates who were not able to access their result had been found not to have fully complied with the instruction to send “UTMERESULT”(as one word text) to 55019/66019 from the same phone number (SIM) with which they registered  for the UTME.
