An 18-year-old housewife (name withheld ) in Potiskum, Yobe, has allegedly cut off her husband’s manhood.

SP Dungus Abdulkarim, the spokesman of the Police Command in the state, disclosed this in a statement in Damaturu on Saturday.

He said the disturbing incident allegedly occurred at about 1 a.m. on February 6, but was reported to the Potiskum Divisional Police Station at about 3 p.m. on the same day.

Abdulkarim said the suspect, who was at large, used a sharp knife to mutilate her husband’s organ and fled the scene of the crime.

“Following the report, police operatives promptly visited the scene and rushed the victim to the State Specialist Hospital, Potiskum, for urgent medical attention.

“He was subsequently referred to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Azare, where he is currently receiving treatment,” the spokesman said.

He said investigation was ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspect and unravel the circumstances surrounding the crime.

The spokesman said he would not divulge some sensitive details of the crime in order to protect the victim from trauma.

Abdulkarim said the state Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Ado, strongly condemned the crime and emphasised that marriage should be built on mutual respect, understanding, patience, and tolerance.

“Marriage must never be an avenue for violence, abuse, or humiliation,” the police spokesman quoted the commissioner as saying.

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have uncovered a clandestine laboratory where Colorado, a synthetic strain of cannabis, is being produced in a residential building located at Ajao Estate, Isolo, Lagos.

In the building large quantities of freshly cooked Colos and various precursor chemicals for drug production recovered and the 30-year-old lab owner, Stephen Kelechi Imoh arrested.

The discovery followed months of intelligence gathering on possible Colos laboratories in Lagos after NDLEA officers intercepted consignments of freshly produced Colos in March and May 2025 in the state, a development that suggested that the dangerous psychoactive substance, which was hitherto imported into the country, was now locally produced.

The effort paid off on Thursday 30th October 2025 when NDLEA officers raided the residential apartment in Ajao Estate, Isolo, Lagos which Kelechi converted to a laboratory for cooking Colos, a strain of cannabis produced with the psychoactive plant and various chemicals.

Recovered from the apartment include freshly cooked Colos weighing 16.2 kilograms; ADB-CHMNACA Cannabinol -1.7kg; Potassium Carbonate -4.5kg and Dibromobutane – 91 litres.

In another operation in Lagos, NDLEA operatives on Saturday 1st November raided the enclave of a 28-year-old drug dealer Afeez Salisu (alias Malu) in Mushin where 16 compressed blocks of Ghana Loud, a strain of cannabis as well as designer sachets and bottles of Colorado weighing 16.4kg were recovered from him.

A music artist Godspower George Osahenrumwen whose stage name is Steady Boy was on Thursday 30th October arrested by NDLEA operatives while attempting to take delivery of a large consignment of Loud, a strain of cannabis concealed inside three cartons of bathtub imported along with other items such as cloths and gadgets from New York, United States.

This followed the seizure of the shipment which arrived the import shed of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, MMIA, Ikeja, Lagos, from US aboard a DHL flight on Tuesday 28th October.

The 20-year-old music artist was nabbed at Bougain Villa, Primewater Gardens 2, Freedom way, Lekki, Lagos, when he showed up as the consignee to take delivery of the 140 bags of Loud with a gross weight of 77.20kg on behalf of a syndicate, which includes his manager, Zion Osazee Omigie (a.k.a Zee Money) who is currently at large.

In Kaduna, NDLEA operatives on patrol along Abuja – Jos highway on Sunday 26th October intercepted a consignment of 84,710 capsules of tramadol coming from Onitsha, Anambra state and heading to Bauchi.

A follow up operation in Bauchi led to the arrest of the recipient Musa Abdulkarim, 27.

Two days later, Tuesday 28th October, operatives at the tollgate along Abuja-Kaduna highway arrested Hamza Musa, 47, conveying 32, 946 bottles of Akuskura, a New Psychoactive Substance, NPS, from Lagos, while Saidu Nafiu, 30, was nabbed with 131.5kg skunk at Kamfanin Zangon Aya, Igabi local government area, Kaduna.

Three suspects – Seun Olaniyi, 24; Rauf Asogba, 28; and Ayinla Adeniyi, 50 – were on Saturday 1st November arrested at Abeokuta, Ogun State after a team of NDLEA officers tracked their movement from Benin Republic and eventually intercepted their bus along Abiola Way, Abeokuta, with a total 1,779kg skunk recovered from them.

While Jamilu Mustapha (a.k.a. Last Card), 46, was arrested with 596.4kg skunk at Nasaru town, Ningi local government area, Bauchi State, on Wednesday 29th October, no fewer than 532,600 pills of tramadol and exol-5 were recovered from the trio of Halilu Amiru; Rabiu Maikudi and Ibrahim Mati in a truck marked KTG- 791 ZZ at Oko-Olowo, Ilorin, Kwara State, same day.

In Edo State, NDLEA officers on patrol along Okhokho-Isi community in Uhunmwode local government area on Wednesday, 29th October, intercepted two Toyota Sienna buses marked EPE 545 EV and ABC 142 CD conveying a total of 1,455kg skunk following credible intelligence.

In like manner, operatives in Ondo State, on Tuesday 28th October recovered a total of 2,829kg skunk linked to a 32-year-old female suspect Mrs. Ige Olarewaju from two locations at Ayede, Ogbese, while another suspect, Samuel Adebayo, was nabbed with 737kg of same psychoactive substance at Adegbola Junction, Akure.

No less than 76.5 litres of skuchies, a mixture of black currant, skunk and opioids were seized from a suspect Ige Oluwale, 50.

Oluwale was arrested by NDLEA officers at Ibereko, Bagadry, Lagos on Friday 31st October, while a total of 30,370 pills of tramadol and 177 grams of methamphetamine were recovered from the duo of Musbahu Abdullahi, 28; and Saleiman Ahmed, 25, following their arrest at Wukari, Taraba state by operatives on Thursday 30th October when they were conveying the drugs from Onitsha, Anambra State to Yola, Adamawa State.

Meanwhile, commands and formations of the agency across the country continued their War Against Drug Abuse, WADA, sensitization activities to schools, worship centres, work places and communities among others in the past week. These include: WADA sensitization lecture to students and staff of Aroje/Abaa Community High School, Ogbomoso, Oyo State; Amazing Flower Secondary School, Maya, Ikorodu, Lagos; Government Day Secondary School, Ilelah, Sokoto; Government Day Secondary School, Darina, Gwiwa local government area; Jigawa Royal Star Academy, Hayin Gwarmai, Bebeji local government area, Kano State, among others.

While commending the officers and men of MMIA, Lagos, Kaduna, Edo, Kwara, Ogun, Taraba, Ondo, Seme, and Bauchi commands as well as their compatriots across the country for their resilience, professionalism and balanced approach to the drug control efforts of the country, Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA, Brig Gen Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd) vowed that the agency would continue to target and dismantle every identified drug syndicate in any part of Nigeria while denying them of the benefits of the proceeds of their criminal trade by ensuring that they forfeit all their traceable assets to the federal government.

The Police command in Yobe has arrested four suspects for alleged defilement, assault on a police officer, and unlawful possession of firearms.

Police spokesman, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, confirmed this in a statement issued in Damaturu on Saturday.

He said operatives of Nguru Division arrested two suspects – Jarma Hussaini Adam, 25, and Mohammed Abdusalam, 16 – both of Sabon Garin Kanuri, Nguru local government area.

The suspects allegedly attacked Cpl. Amani Ali while on guard duty at the Federal Medical Centre, Nguru, on Friday.

Abdulkarim said the officer was found unconscious and bleeding, with his rifle stolen, before a tactical operation led to recovery of the weapon, magazines, and knife jacket.

“The injured officer is recuperating, while the suspects remain in custody,” he added.

READ ALSO: Gospel according to the teachers of Olubadan and Obasanjo

He described the incident as an affront to the Police Force, stressing that the command viewed such attacks as criminal acts and assaults on constituted authority.

In a separate case, Abdulkarim said personnel of Damaturu ‘A’ Division arrested a suspected armed herder, Ibrahim Alhaji Ahmadu, 24, of Dusuwa Village, on September 22.

The suspect was arrested after a farmer reported that a herder trespassed on his farm and allegedly threatened him with a firearm.

Abdulkarim said a shotgun and live ammunition were recovered from the suspect.

Similarly, Potiskum Division operatives arrested Dahiru Ali, 19, of Hayin Kwari, for allegedly defiling a three-year-old girl in the Mutawassada area of Potiskum.

“Investigations revealed that the suspect earlier defiled another three-year-old in the same neighbourhood. He confessed to the crime,” Abdulkarim stated.

Yobe Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Ado, condemned the acts and reaffirmed the command’s zero-tolerance stance on criminality.

The commissioner urged parents and guardians to monitor their children and appealed to residents to support police efforts with timely and credible information.

The Police Command in Yobe has said that the terrorist group, Boko Haram, has planned to infiltrate the planned nationwide protest in the state.

The spokesman of the Command, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, stated this in a statement on Saturday in Yobe.

He said intelligence received by the command indicated that foreign mercenaries were engaged to destroy lives and property during the protest.

Abdulkarim therefore called on individuals planning to participate in the protest to exercise caution.

“As Yobe State recovers from insurgency, the Commissioner of Police, CP Garba Ahmed, acknowledges citizens’ constitutional rights to peaceful assembly.

“While we alert citizens to sinister motives, even peaceful protests at this time may be ill-timed.

“Recent insurgency activities in Gujba LGA, including an improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion, have raised concerns.

“We are unprepared to face additional security challenges,” he said, and warned that criminals trying to hide under the protest to destabilise the state would face the wrath of the law.

READ ALSO: BBNaija Season 9 kicks off with 28 housemates

According to Abdulkarim, for a hitch-free protest, the protesters are required to indicate proposed protest routes and assembly points.

The spokesman said they should also state expected duration of the protest, names and contact details of leaders and organizers and measures to prevent hijacking by criminal elements.

“By providing this information, we can deploy adequate personnel and resources; designate specific routes and areas, establish clear communication channels, and minimise the risk of violence, property damage, or criminal activity.

“We encourage protesters to cooperate with the Police, obey the law, and adhere to global best practices for peaceful assembly.

“We are committed to working with all to promote peaceful expression and maintain public order.”

The command’s spokesman, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, in a statement in Damaturu, named the suspects simply as Jalomi, Ciroma and Bulama.

He said the murder occurred on June 7 after the trio accused Waje of having an affair with the wife of Bulama, the local chief and father of Jalomi and Ciroma.

“According to the eye witness account, the deceased was matcheted with a cutlass and burned to death by the duo of Alhaji Jalomi and Ciroma.

“As narrated, the incident began as a fight that led to the deceased using a knife to inflict injury on the father of the suspects,” Abdulkarim said.

He added that Bulama subsequently instructed his children to go after Waje, which they did by burning him to death.

Abdulkarim said the three suspects turned themselves in to the Yunusari Divisional Police Station after the incident.

“While Bulama was finding ways to treat himself from the wound, he had no option than to involve the Police, in the process of investigation.

“Subsequently, the perpetrators of the heinous offence reported themselves to the Yunusari Division after the arrest of their father,” he said.

The 241 RECCE Battalion of the Nigerian Army on Saturday dismissed John Gabriel and Lance Cpl Adamu Gideon who allegedly killed an Islamic scholar, Sheikh Goni Aisami, in Yobe.

Lt. Col. Ibrahim Osabo, Ag Commanding Officer of the Battalion, Nguru, Yobe, disclosed this to newsmen shortly after the suspects were de-kited in Nguru.

The suspects were reduced from Lance Corporal to private soldiers before they were dismissed.

“You are all aware of what happened a week ago where the two service personnel of this unit went out and committed atrocity and the Nigerian Police personnel arrested them.

“Thanks to Almighty Allah we are able to do the needful. We initiated military police investigation together with the Nigerian Police.

READ ALSO: Nigerian Army deploys GOCs, appoints new PSOs, others

“The outcome of the investigation gave us the latitude to sanction the suspects accordingly and they are now officially dismissed regiment from the Nigerian Army,” Osabo said.

He added that the dismissed men would be handed officially to the Nigeria Police to face civil prosecution.

“We are taking them to our Sector Headquarters in Damaturu, the Sector Commander will then officially hand them over to the Nigeria Police to face civil prosecution. They no longer represent Nigerian Army,” he added.

The Acting Commanding Officer condemned their actions and said it was not a true reflection of the Nigerian Army personnel.

“I want to assure you that we are law abiding citizens and we are ready to dispense justice on anybody who is found wanting, irrespective of position or rank,” he also said.

DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, the Police Command spokesperson, on Tuesday announced that police operatives apprehended the suspects in connection with the Sheik’s murder on August 16.
