ScienceOpen, a leading global open-science and research discovery platform, has elevated Nigerian media executive and researcher, Max Nwabueze Amuchie, to Expert Member and Peer Reviewer status in Social and Behavioral Sciences.

The appointment, according to ScienceOpen, was made based on Amuchie’s ORCID publication history and scholarly contributions indexed on the platform.

As an Expert Member, Amuchie is entitled to conduct post-publication peer reviews of articles on ScienceOpen, curate collections of scholarly works, and participate in academic discourse through article commenting and evaluation.

The recognition comes amid a period of accelerated research productivity that has seen the publication of a fourteen-part macro-theoretical portfolio, including the development of The Insecurity Triad, the Trinity of State Decay (TSD) and Decoupling Sovereignty Index (DSI) frameworks.

Commenting on the development, Amuchie described the recognition as both humbling and encouraging.

“This recognition reinforces the importance of open scholarship and interdisciplinary knowledge production. It is particularly gratifying because it was conferred on the basis of documented research outputs and scholarly engagement,” he said.

Amuchie is the CEO and Theorist-In-Chief of Sundiata Post Media Ltd and leads the Sundiata Post Intelligence Unit, SPIU, the organisation’s emerging research and strategic studies platform.

Headquartered in Berlin, Germany, with its primary technical and editorial operations hub in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, ScienceOpen is a leading independent open-science discovery network and research platform.

Founded on the principles of Open Access, the platform democratises knowledge by breaking down academic paywalls so that researchers, policymakers, and journalists can freely share and critique global research.

ScienceOpen operates an innovative, transparent post-publication peer review system.

It aggregates a massive, interconnected global database of over 85 million research records and articles.

To maintain absolute academic integrity, only scholars who meet strict criteria—including a verified track record of published, peer-reviewed scientific literature linked to their international ORCID ID—are appointed as Expert Members and Peer Reviewers.

The latest recognition further strengthens the intersection of digital journalism, theory building, and open-science scholarship being advanced through Sundiata Post’s research initiatives.
