Rotary International District 9111 Governor, Prince Henry Akinyele, has expressed shock over the transition of the publisher of Marketing Edge Magazine, Mr John Ajayi.
Ajayi died on Wednesday.
The late publisher, Mr Ajayi, was the theme speaker last week Wednesday during Rotary District 9111 Public Image Seminar 2025, and was represented by the Deputy Editor-in- Chief, Mr Ralph Tathagatga.
Akinyele described the Late Ajayi as “highly cerebral and a consummate publisher of the most informative, educative magazine on Nigeria’s marketing communication, whose sudden transition has left a void for the industry. He was a close neighbour and Chairman, Journalists Estate, Arepo, Ogun State”.
Akinyele prayeds the Almighty God to give his wife and family the fortitude to bear the “irreparable loss of an icon and friend of Rotary.”
Chairman, Public Image Committee Rotary District 9111, Olalekan Otun, stated that Ajayi would be be sorely missed and recalled his exact message sent last week.
It reads: “Kindly help tender my profuse apologies to the Rotary District Governor, Rotarian Henry Akinyele, one of my highly esteemed junior brothers and neighbour in Journalists Estate Phase 1, Arepo.
“Kindly tell him that I have long packaged the theme paper but yet to give to my graphic artist when I had some health issues.
“Tell them (Rotarians) that I had looked forward to honouring the Governor and his dynamic team. Only for my Doctor to advise I should go on bed rest for 4 Days. Hence, I am sending my Deputy – Editor – Chief, Mr Ralph Tathagatga, to do the presentation. Looking forward to another auspicious occasion.”
