Rivers: Wike, Fubara agree to work together after Tinubu’s meeting

Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, have announced the end of the prolonged political crisis in the state.

The announcement was made after a meeting on Thursday at the instance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Other key stakeholders attended the meeting too.

Wike who spoke shortly after the meeting that both camps had reached a truce.

His words: “We have all agreed to work together with the governor, and the governor has agreed to work with all of us. For me, everything is over.”

Speaking in the same vein, Fubara said: “Peace has returned to Rivers State. We will do everything in our power to make sure we sustain it this time around.”

It would be recalled that on March 18, President Tinubu declared a state of emergency, suspending Governor Fubara, his deputy, and all the State House of Assembly members for the political crisis in the state.
