The Secretary to Rivers State Government, Prof. Ibibia Lucky Worika, has called on residents of Rivers State to be apprehensive of fake news peddlers who intend to disinform the public.

The SSG gave the warning on Saturday in Government House as he also refuted an alleged appointment of Mr Samuel Nwanosike as Sole Administrator of Rivers State Waste Management Agency, RIWAMA, by the Administrator of the State, Vice Admiral (Rtd.) Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas.

Prof. Worika categorically refuted the appointment of Mr Nwanosike and proposed recruitment of 10,000 persons into the state civil service.

He urged everyone to disregard unfounded speculations and rely on official government sources for accurate information.

“Be informed that all official communications from the Office of the Administrator of Rivers State have appropriate channels through which they are circulated, pay attention to such channels,” he stressed.

He added that the government remained steadfast in its pursuit of a peaceful, prosperous and united state.
