Remo Stars win first NPFL title on founder’s birthday

Remo Stars on Sunday secured their first-ever Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, title with a dramatic 1-0 victory over Niger Tornadoes.

Incidentally, it was the 59th birthday of club president, Chief Kunle Soname, making it a day of double celebration for them.

In the encounter which took place at Ikenne, Ogun State, Olamilekan Adedayo registered his name in Remo Stars’ history as he scored the only goal.

The goal came in 84th minute when he unleashed an unstoppable rocket into the net, sending the home crowd into absolute pandemonium.

With the goal, the club secured three points and clinched the league title, fulfilling a dream season for the Sky Blue Stars.

The title was a perfect birthday gift for Chief Kunle Soname.

Soname founded and nurtured Remo Stars to a club of reckoning in Nigerian football.
