Portable surrenders to police, arrives Eleweran in Abeokuta

Controversial singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, who was declared wanted by the police on Monday, has arrived the Ogun State Police Command, Eleweran, Abeokuta.

The announcement of his arrival was made on Wednesday by the spokesperson of the command, Omolola Odutola.

She said Portable arrived the command at 1.23 p.m. Wednesday.

Her words: “The Ogun State Police Command wishes to inform the public that Habeeb Okikiola, also known as Portable, arrived at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Eleweran, Abeokuta, at exactly 13:23 hours today, February 19, 2025.

“His presence at the SCID is connected to an ongoing investigation. The command assures the public that due process will be followed in handling this matter, and updates will be provided as necessary.”

She added: “We urge members of the public to remain calm and refrain from spreading unverified information. The Ogun State Police Command remains committed to upholding justice and maintaining public order.”

Recall that Portable was declared wanted by the Ogun State Police Command over a case of alleged violent attack on government officials who were carrying out their lawful duties.

The alleged attack was carried out on February 5, 2025, at about 10:00 a.m. when three officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Ota Zonal Office were conducting an enforcement exercise at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota.

Before his arrival in Abeokuta, he turned himself in at the SCID, Yaba.

“Portable just turned himself in at the SCID, Yaba. We have contacted the Ogun State Police Command to come and pick him up,” Benjamin Hundeyin, the Public Relations Officer of the Police command in Lagos State stated.
