The Nigeria Police Force has vowed to fish out some of its men found in a video accompanying a supposedly Very Important Personality, VIP, with a cow, obviously being taken to the slaughter slab.
No fewer than seven gun carrying policemen were seen in the video with the VIP holding a knife and a black cow being taken to the slaughter slab.
The video shared on a Twitter handle by Yemi Fasipe,@YemieFash, has the Force Public Relations Officer, FPRO, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, @Princemoye1, tagged with a question: “Hello, #Princemoye1 Who is this man, why does he have so many #PoliceNG men following him?”

In his response, the police spokesman condemned the action of the policemen, saying they would be fished out.
He reiterated the plan by the police to withdraw its men attached to VIPs across the country so that they would be deployed for more Quick Intervention Squad.
His tweets read: “This is condemned. We will fish out these men. It’s even disgusting. We have set up a committee to look into the process of withdrawing our PMF/tactical men from such services and use them for the announced Quick Intervention Squad.
“Deployment of policemen to individuals will surely be reviewed and regularised. When the committee submits its report, the Ag. IGP will act as fast as possible to implement the policy. We need more men to police than guard individual Nigerians.
“We can assure Nigerians of a better policing system in no distant time.”
It would be recalled that the Acting Inspector General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, announced on Monday that personnel of the Police Mobile Force, PMF, would soon be withdrawn from VIPs escort and guard duties.
The Acting Inspector-General of Police, I-G, Mr Olukayode Egbetokun, made this known in Abuja during a conference with the Police Tactical Commanders.
The essence of the plan, he said, was to foster trust, cooperation and confidence within the Police Force.
According to him, the police force would re-evaluate the responsibilities of the PMF with the aim of making effective use of it.
He added that to support the strategic plan and make needed manpower available for frontline duties, the withdrawn PMF officers would be replaced by officers of the Special Protection Unit (SPU) only where necessary.
According to him, to ensure the smooth implementation of the policy, the force would, in consultation with the Police Service Commission, invoke the Supernumerary provision of Sections 23, 24 and 25 of the Police Act 2020
Egbetokun said the force had set up a special committee headed by Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Operations to assess and advise on how the strategy could be implemented with ease.
He said the committee was expected to submit its report in two weeks.
He said the police would focus on enforcing the law and help to create a situation where everyone would feel protected.
