Police Inspector arrested for shooting and killing one Fatai Oladipupo

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested one Inspector Okoro Charles in connection with the shooting and killing of one 28 years old Fatai Oladipupo of Obabiyi area of Ikotun, Lagos State.

Charles is said to be attached to Ikotun Division and the shooting incident was said to have occurred on Wednesday at Obabiy area along Igando Road, Ikotun, Lagos State.

The Inspector, according to police spokesman in Lagos, DSP Bala Elkana, was being subjected to internal disciplinary procedures, known as Orderly Room Trial at the State Provost Department.

If found guilty, Elkana said, he would be handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba for prosecution in conventional court.

“Investigation is ongoing to unravel the circumstances surrounding the shooting incident. The Commissioner of Police condoles with the family and friends of the deceased and calls for calm. He assures them that justice will prevail. Members of the public will be updated on the outcome of the investigation,” the spokesman said.
