Police apprehend seven for allegedly raping four minors in Katsina

Police operatives in Katsina State have apprehended seven persons for allegedly raping four girls in Kaita local government area of the state.

The police spokesperson, ASP Abubakar Aliyu, said in a statement on Tuesday in Katsina that the suspects were apprehended by the operatives attached to Kaita divisional headquarters.

He listed the suspects to include Salisu Ibrahim; Sabiu Abdulkarim; Nuhu Halliru; Rabe Malam; Hamza Abdullahi; Iliyasu Ibrahim, and Idris Abdullahi, all in their 40s, and residents of Kaita local government area.

The PPRO revealed that following the receipt of a report on their nefarious activities, the police swung into action and succeeded in their arrest.

The suspects, he said, had been luring four girls within the age of 13 and 14, into the house of one of the suspects, where they had allegedly been having unlawful carnal knowledge of them.

He revealed that the suspects confessed to the commission of the offence during investigation.

The PPRO further said that they would be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
