Controversial musician, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as “Portable”, has been arraigned and granted bail over issues bordering on criminal defamation, intimidation, inciting public disturbance, and cyberstalking.
Portable was arrested on Saturday by operatives of the Police command in Kwara State following a petition by a popular Fuji act, Okunola Saheed, also known as “Osupa”.
During his arraignment at an Upper Area Court in Ilorin, “Portable” was granted bail in the sum of ₦1 million.
The court ruled that he should also provide two sureties in like sum, one of which must be either the Chairman or Secretary of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria, while the other must possess a landed property within a Government Reserved Area, backed by a valid Certificate of Occupancy.

FrontPage reports that the Commissioner of Police in the Kwara State, in a statement by the Kwara Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, on Sunday, said the arrest of “Portable” followed a petition to that effect by “Osupa”.
He was said to have been arrested in view of the weight of the allegation against him.
The allegations against “Portable”, the police said, included “criminal defamation, threat to life, incitement, character assassination, conduct likely to cause a breach of peace and the use of abusive and insulting words.”
