A pioneer student of the Ogun State University (now Olabisi Onabanjo University), Professor Oladipo Olusola Olubomehin, has emerged as the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) of the institution.
Olubomehin of the pioneer 1982/83 class of Ogun State University studied History and graduated with BA History in 1986.
He joined the university in October 1987 upon completion of his National Youth Service Corps scheme and has devoted himself to teaching, research and administrative duties.
Olubomehin obtained his Masters and Ph.D in History from the University of Ibadan, 1988 and 1999 respectively.

- International Association for Transport, Traffic and Mobility (2004 & 2005)

Awards and honours received:
(i) 1986 Best Graduating Student, Dept. of History, Ogun State University.
(ii) Chief T. E. A. Salubi Prize in History for 1987/88 Session awarded for the best M.A. Dissertation on topic dealing with Nigerian History at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria.
iii) Long Service Award, in recognition of the contribution to the development of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye. – 4th April, 2013.
- iv) Award of Honour given by the Historien Et Diplomats Students Association, Babcock University, Ilishan, Ogun State, Nigeria.
Academic exploits:
In his sojourn in the university, Olubomehin has published in several local and international journals.
He had the honour of serving in various capacities including being:
- Head, Department of History and Diplomatic Studies between February 2000 – September 2002, September 2004 – September 2008 and from August 2013 to the present time.
- Member, Senate Research Committee
- Editor, Journal of History and Diplomatic Studies from Jan. 2004 to 2014.
- Acting Dean, Faculty of Arts
“Dipo Olubomehin” as fondly called, is a Professor of Economic History.
Dean, Faculty of Arts 2017-2021.
Two qualified academia were nominated for the elective position of DVC (Administration) during the Senate sitting that was held today.
The other person stepped down for Dipo Olubomehin to emerge elected.
Professor Olubomehin is immediately taking over from Prof Charles Adekoya whose tenure ends today.
