The Deputy National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Hon. Setonji Koshoedo, has described the late Olubadan, Oba Mohood Lekan Balogun, as a unique king in the annals of Ibadan Obaship history.

This remark was conveyed in Koshoedo’s condolence message to Governor ‘Seyi Makinde and the entire people of Oyo State on the passage of the reverred monarch at the age of 81.

According to Koshoedo, the monarch’s uniqueness stemmed from his capability to efficiently and successfully combine activities in the areas of business, academia, politics, culture and his private life and yet triumphed unscathed in all.

Koshoedo described the passing as a big loss, not only to Ibadan people, but also to Oyo State and Nigeria in general.

He prayed for the repose of the monarch’s soul and urged the governor and the people of Ibadan land to take solace in the successes recorded during Oba Mohood Lekan Balogun’s short but highly impactful tenure as the Olubadan of Ibadan land.

He also prayed that the soul of the king rest in perfect peace.
