The two-count charge is that Adedayo had on August 27 at Abeokuta in the Abeokuta Magisterial District did unlawfully publish a circular to the public.

The charge also stated that that was likely to cause fear and alarm among the public or disturb the public peace.

It contended that Adedayo knew or had reason to believe that such statement was a rumour.

Adedayo pleaded not guilty to the charge and was later granted bail following an application to that effect by his lawyer, Mr. Kayode Akinsola.

The magistrate, A.K. Araba, admitted Adedayo to bail in the sum of two million Naira and two “responsible and reliable sureties” in like sum.

The sureties, according to the magistrate must be resident within the jurisdiction of the court, and must possess landed property with evidence of Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) and tax clearance.

She, therefore, remanded him at the Ibara Correctional Centre in Abeokuta, pending the perfection of the bail conditions.

Having perfected the bail, Adedayo was released from detention.

Announcing his release on his Facebook wall on Thursday, the impeached chairman said he would not relent just as he declared that God had been faithful.

His words: “Olodumare is faithful. He has never failed. And He will never fail. Despite the schemings, despite the deliberate efforts, Omo Olofin Ogbolu is out. We’ll not relent. We’ll not step back. “Awa ti se ileri f’Olorun awa wipe a o se otito o, bi o ti le koro!”
