No fewer than 2250 prospective corps members will participate in the 2019 Batch ‘C’ (Stream 1) orientation course in the state, the Ondo State Coordinator, Mrs. Grace Akpabio, has said.
This is as she confirmed the readiness of the management to host the particpants at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ikare-Akoko, for the induction training.
According to Akpabaio, in a statement issued by Mr. Bankole Simeon, the Public Relations Officer of Ondo NYSC, collaborating agencies had been adequately briefed to ensure all hands were on deck to ensure success at the three weeks orientation programme.
Akpabio further disclosed that agencies of governments at all levels as well as critical stakeholders such as Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, National Drug Law and Enforcement Agency and Nigeria Red Cross Society had been put on the red alert to ensure adequate security for the prospective corps members.
She appealed to traditional institution and transport unions in the state such as National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW; Road Transport Employee Association of Nigeria, RTEAN; Amalgamated Commercial Tricycle and Motorcycle Riders Association of Nigeria, ACCOMORAN, to assist the prospective corps members majority of who are visiting the state for the first time locate the camp without exploiting them.
The service corps helmsman hinted that the swearing in ceremony which holds on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at the orientation camp would be presided over by the Governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, while the Chief Judge will administer Oath of Allegiance on the prospective corps members.
The course which will hold simultaneously in all orientation camps nationwide will feature among many other things lectures, empowerment programmes, military training, sports and social activities.
The orientation course will end on Monday, November 25, 2019.
