NDE to create 93,731 jobs before December 24 (+How to apply)

The National Directorate of Employment, NDE, has commenced the process of creating 93,731 jobs nationwide before December 24.

The Director General of the NDE, Mr Silas Agara, made the announcement in Akure, the Ondo State capital, recently as he called on unemployed Nigerians to take advantage of the opportunity.

He stated that the mass employment programme would key squarely into the Renewed Hope Mass Employment agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, having expression in six out of the eight priority areas of the present administration.

In a press statement issued by the Ondo State directorate of the NDE, the agency, it was said, would provide Vocational, Agricultural and Entrepreneurial skills training with complementing transient job opportunities for the participants in the public works sector using over 30 different skill sets.

Speaking further on the implementation of the programme, the NDE Coordinator in Ondo State, Mr. Israel Adekitan, said that participants in the programme would be drawn from the ward level of the 774 local government areas in Nigeria, adding that registration would be online for inclusivity.

“For proper inclusion and transparency, the Director General of the NDE, His Excellency Silas Agara, has directed that minimum of ten persons should be considered from each of the electoral wards nationwide,” he said.

According to Adekitan, some of the training skills and trades for the job creation exercises include Agricultural Programme such as Fish Production; Poultry production; Feed Formulation; Crop production; Goat rearing; Quick Fix Demand Driven training; Digital marketing and Solar Energy Training Schemes.

Others are Environmental Beautiful Training; Graduate Coaching; Graduate Attachment Programme; Tailoring; Plumbing; Digital skills; GSM repair; Welding; Start Your Own Business (SYOB) and many more.

At the end of the training, the Ondo State co-ordinator said, start-up capital, equipment and working tools would be provided for the deserving participants to start their businesses.

Others would be linked to credit granting institutions to access loans to enable them commence small and medium scale businesses.

He advised unemployed Nigerians to log in to the NDE job portal at nde.gov.ng with valid E-mail Address and Passport Photograph for registration or visit any of the NDE offices nationwide.

NDE has presence in all the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja.

The training and empowerment programmes, Adekitan said, were to be concluded by the end of December 2024.

NDE was established in 1986 to checkmate rising unemployment in Nigeria.

It commenced job creation programmes in January 1987 under its four core programmes namely Vocational Skills Development, VSD; Small Scale Enterprises, SSE; Rural Employment Promotion, REP, and Special Public Works, SPW.
