The Minister of Youth Development, Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim, has expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu over her appointment, saying it is an opportunity to lead the youths in the right direction.
The minister who spoke during her first official visit to Kwara State on Thursday, also applauded Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq over his inclusion of youths in government.
The minister who was welcome to the state by a team led by the newly appointed Commissioner for Youth Development and Chairman of NYSC Governing Board, Musa Nafisat Buge and the state coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps, Mr. Onifade Olaoluwa, described Tinubu’s administration as youth driven.
She said most policies were geared towards maximizing the potentials embedded in youths for better Nigeria.
The minister further commended the Kwara State governor’s exemplary leadership in taking cognisance of the roles of women and youths in the scheme of things in the state.

According to her, “His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has set a pace for youth and women inclusion in governance of Kwara State.”
In her welcome address, the Kwara State Commissioner of Youth Development reiterated the state government’s commitment and partnership with the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, for effective youth participation and inclusion in governance.
She said the partnership would also create an enabling environment for them to thrive, noting that the governor of Kwara State had set the pace for youth participation in government in Nigeria.
The State Coordinator, NYSC Kwara State, Mr. Onifade Olaoluwa, lauded the role the president and Kwara State governor in recognising the potentials of youths and placing them in key positions.
He tasked Nigeria youths to be in the forefront of ensuring that the agenda of nation building fully materialised.
“I wish to urge youths in the nation to support both the minister and commissioner. This will go a long way in having positive narrative of youths in power and further realise collective efforts of national development,” he said.
Also present at the event were Commissioner for Business Innovation and Technology, Damilola Yusuf Adelodun and Commissioner for Environment, Sheu Usman Ndanusa.
Others were Commissioner II, Kwara State Civil Service Commission, Mrs Jemilat Adamu Bake; former Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr. Aminat Ahmed, and NYSC Ilorin West Local Government Inspector, Alhaja Oloriegbe Tawa.
