The president of the Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria, MUSWEN, and Deputy President-General (South) of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, NSCIA, Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo, has been appointed as a member of the Board of Trustees, BoT, of the national Islamic body.
The appointment was officially ratified during the recently concluded General Assembly of the apex Islamic body held in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, which was presided over by the President-General of the Council and Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar.
Oladejo, an eminent financial authority and former Deputy Director-General of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE, steps into the position as replacement for the late former president of MUSWEN and Deputy President-General (South) of NSCIA, Alhaji Sakariyau Olayiwola Babalola, SOB.
The appointment solidifies MUSWEN’s representation within the national apex Islamic council.
As the umbrella body coordinating Islamic affairs across the six southwestern states—Ekiti, Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, and Oyo—MUSWEN plays a core role in driving the office of the Deputy President-General (South) of the NSCIA.
Additional ratified appointments announced at the NSCIA General Assembly were: Professor Mahfouz Adedimeji, Deputy Secretary-General, National Affairs; Professor Salisu Shehu, Deputy Secretary-General, International Affairs; Mallam Abeny Mohammed, SAN, Deputy Secretary-General, Corporate Matters and Dr Bala Muhammad, Deputy Secretary-General, Administration.
Also announced were the appointments of Dr. Umar Jibrilu Gwandu, as Public Relations Officer, and Hajia Sekinat Lawal, as Deputy Public Relations Officer.
