The new National Executive Council of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Alumni Association, MAPALUM, on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the Acting Rector of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Dr. Adeoye Odedeji, and members of the management team.
The executive council of the association was led on the visit by its national president, Pastor Ezekiel Obasanya.
In his address, the national president appreciated the Rector and his team for stabilising the institution.
Obasanya assured the management of MAPALUM’s support and commitment to the continued existence of the institution as well as collaboration in all areas towards achieving the mission, vision and objectives of the founding fathers.
He also commiserated with the entire polytechnic community over the death of former and longest serving Registrar of the school, Mr. Oluyemi Akinola Olumide.
In his response, the Acting Rector, Dr. Odedeji, appreciated the newly constituted EXCO for deeming it fit to visit the management less than a month into its tenure.
According to him, that showed a good intention of the association members to their alma mater.
Odedeji shared some of achievements recorded in the last one year of his appointment as including the take off of Online MAPOLY Radio; donation of some terrestrial radio equipment to the school by an alumnus; renewal of MAPOLY Radio license and NCC donation of 500 capacity ICT Centre fully equipped for CBT examinations
Others are the creation of Vocational and Technical Education Centre which will allow students to undergo hands-on courses for certification and the enrolment of MAPOLY on JAMB CAPS Platform for Admissions.
