The Leadership Empowerment International Conference, LEIC, starts in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, on Son Friday with a coterie of eminent global leaders from across the globe who have already arrived to grace the event.
The conference Keynote Speaker, former President Olusegun Obasanjo is billed to mount the podium on Saturday to speak on the all-important issue of leadership challenge facing Nigeria, and by extension, Africa.
Venue is the Continental Suites located on IBB Boulevard, Abeokuta, where 18 distinguished Nigerians from all walks of life are to be conferred with honorary Doctorate in Leadership or Theology.
The awarding institution is the South Africa-based Immanuel Theology Education Institute owned by Prof Van Den Berg Edward Alfred in affiliation with Priesthood Leadership Development Initiative Inc, PDLI.
PDLI/LEIC is the brainchild of the International Coordinator, Prof. Olusesi Obateye.

Apart from Obasanjo, other Guest Speakers include the popular American Televangelist, Dr Tamike Brown; a German, Dr Konrad Oberle; Engr. Abiodun Fijabi, Adeyinka Moyosore Kotoye (SAN); Dr Kunle Hamilton and Dr Kunle Ashimi.
The conference theme is: “Leadership and Followership: The Bonding Factors and The Consequences of Insincerity.”
Chief Obasanjo is the Global Patron of LEIC.
He was present at last year’s conference as a guest of one of the awardees and got fascinated by the organisation’s focus on leadership issues.
